I notice that more mineral debris comes out of my k-cafe brewer when I use vinegar as opposed to the keurig descaling solution. I use 30% white cleaning vinegar solution rather than the regular white vinegar. I use it diluted with water 1:1. I have been using that since my device was new - about 3 times so far. Today I finally tried their solution which was expensive! Thanks for your video - I forget how to do this when the descaling light comes on every 2-3 months! Your video really comes in handy! It is so much better than the videos by keurig. Plus - the videos are almost hidden on their support menu. It takes an effort to get past all their offers and sales ads! YOUR video is concise and answers all questions almost - before I can even think of any questions! You are not "just a dad" - you are "SUPER DAD"!😊

Thanks for the tutorial! I used white vinegar 1:1 ratio, let that cycle through multiple times, added fresh water to my reservoir multiple times, and finally my descale light just went off! I think I ran the 12oz descale 6-8 times.

my machine I ran the descale mode and the two lights came on and adding water only turns off the water light and the decale remains blinking. I've done it three times. I'm not sure why it will not click off the descale mode

Nope, nothing. It ran 3 cups of 12 oz & quit working once again and it’s been weeks. I got this in December, the 5th or 6th keurig I’ve owned & never had 1 issue with any other model.

Descale light went out after 5 repetitions. If your light doesn’t go out after 3 or 4 repeats, keep doing it till the descale light is out. It depends on the debris level maybe (not sure)

So is there any actual difference between descale mode and just running solution through the system as a cup of coffee? I've done it several times (after noticing calcium building up on the bottom of the water reservoir) without ever using the descale mode itself.

mine makes me open the top between each brew to select the 12oz i ran 2 descaler solutions thru and probably 4 fresh water tanks and the stupid light wont turn off ive unplugged and tried to push the buttons needed to reset the descale nothing is working :(

to get the descale light to go out you do, and it is a good idea to do it also.

The reason for descaling is because of the minerals in tap water. So if you want to go the extra step buy a gallon of distilled water for a couple bucks and use it (along with the descaling solution) to descale the machine. The water has no minerals in it. You can also use distilled water to make you coffee, avoiding to ever have to descale the machine. I can't taste any difference in my coffee using tap water vs distilled water. Results may vary.

Please help. I’ve descaled and followed all directions so far. My keurig no matter what will only make 1-2 ounces of strange appearing coffee.. then it shuts off. No other lights come on or anything. Idk what to do and this keurig is only about 4-5 months old.
