Thanks, Tom, a very clear presentation of how to mix and apply Plaster of Paris. I appreciate your being specific on the mixing and clean-up of the materials. Also, I appreciate your tip on the plastic wrap as protection. Much appreciated. - Dean from cold (but getting warmer) Minnesota

Hi Tom. Thanks for the great video. I watched it while I was trying my first bit of plaster. The only thing I can ask that you consider explaining a little bit more is how to setup the latticework of cardboard in the first place. I see that and understand that it's something I should do, and I'm experimenting with a little bit of a cardboard box, trying to do some Cena King in it to test. But I still don't really understand how to do all that weaving to create the Contours that I ultimately want

Just glue it into place where you want the contours. It will pull down or pop out as you move it along

Debbie: Tom, these pancakes taste funny... Tom: Debbie, have you seen my plaster mix anywhere? I was hoping you'd speak French in this video. Drink some wine and get plaster...ing. Oui oui! Jokes aside, so nice to see you working on scenery. I love your beginners series.

Thanks Mark! Ooh la la! French and me don't mix. haha! I took 3 years of French in high school; 2 years of French 1, and a year of French 2. I came away with: Je M AppelleThomas!

How do you lean so far over the set to get the further parts of the set and still have it look good?

Everything is within arms reach. Places further than arms reach have access doors.

Dear sir, I'm a beginner on my layout. I'm over 70 and do your help. I haven't wired it yet. Have the feeders attached to my tracks but l haven't drilled my holes into the layout as of this moment. But the question l need to ask, l have two buckets of ready- made Dap plaster Paris. I'm on a budget so l can't buy the powder kind at this time. So please help me. What would be the ratio to make the plaster that I have pliable for my layout ? I appreciate your advice and I thoroughly have enjoyed your video on plastering the layout. Great demonstration, very helpful for me. Thank you for reading my comment. Your friend, Mike

I just followed the instructions on the bucket pf Plaster of Paris. If it's ready made, you should be fine.

So, just to be clear, plaster fabric isn't necessary for the plaster to stick? Because I'm using dense foam instead of cardboard strips, and from what I've gathered from the video, the fabric is only for covering up the gaps and preventing the plaster from sliding off the cardboard. So, if that's true, then I'm assuming it should stick to foam alright, but I just wanted to make sure.

I prefer sculptamold over plaster of paris because it just dents and doesn't crack and chip if you accidentally hit it

Something very important you should have mentioned is not to wash out plaster in the house or shop plumbing. As it will cause potential problems later if you put it in the plumbing.

I have been using aluminum screen crumpled up covered with toilet paper and thinned down glue I like it because it actually makes Rock formations and to cover the paper I used thinned down drywall compound and then it's painted
