Years ago I was told that when fording, go slow, slip the clutch and keep the revs high and once through, drive while applying the brakes dry them out. I still use this method and had no trouble.

I would buy Land Rover. First take a look on the air filter Intake. Is this Part under or over the Waterline. A Friend of mine has destroyed in Berlin Grunewald his Engine from alfa 156/2,4 JTD.

I don't think insurance does cover it as it wasn't accidental, he drove through the water intentionally. Manufacturer wont warranty it either. Basically he's got a brand new car that needs a new engine, the cost of which will be down to him.
