I got this bag before Christmas and went away with it for a few weeks. It wasn't my only bag (I checked a suitcase), but it was carryon for flights and getting on and off a cruise. And considering I started the trip with everything I needed plus Christmas presents, it was pretty heavy (>9kg) at one point. I found it really comfortable and found the storage pockets just about perfect. I didn't want a bag with excessive pocket organisation. This had just enough easily accessible space for things like wallet, passport, Kindle, etc. Really happy with the purchase, as someone who will likely need it for just a few trips a year, either as a weekender by itself or an additional bag for longer bags where I'll check my suitcase.

I had this for a brief moment but ended up returning it. It was no fault of the bag as I found it great, especially considering the price (it punches way above its price tag). I ended up deciding to get the new(ish) Tortuga travel backpack at 40L. I completely agree with you about the volume on this thing. I wasn't able to pack any more than I am able to in my older Tortuga Setout 35L backpack. With that said, I am shocked that this back is so inexpensive. Props to Tomtoc for all the great stuff they have been putting out recently. This bag really is great and it's a very comfortable carry (just wish it had load lifters). I think it easily sits in there with many of the $200-$300 travel bags.

Thanks for the comment, these are my favorite ones to read. I think thats totally reasonable! You've graduated past the need for a beginner bag haha. And the Tortuga is a killer! Very confused about this comment, how can a $350 bag be comparable to this $80? Also, why is that Tortuga one so expensive (I think this is more of the issue in general is the extreme markup on so many products on the market these days.)
@EDG11 ай бұрын
@@SD-ft6gsto me, it’s comparable in terms of function. In general for my videos , I try not to get hung up on specs, but rather ask the question …does it make a difference for the user. Like a tortuga for example, of course it has higher quality materials, but does it make the bag significantly lighter or magically carry more stuff? Probably No. And lifetime warranty’s will always play a factor in price. But budget bags are always fun because for many ppl, even the thought of spending over $100 for a bag is insane! With any product, there’s diminishing returns as price goes up, so I like to make ppl aware of that!

I got this for a international move to cope with the 10kg carry on limit. I had to pack 2 laptops, USB drives, and a lot of items with rechargeable batteries. I have found with bags like this...the loint of failure is always the plastic clips and the stitching around them. If you need an affordable bag then this might be ok, but if you are lugging around a camera and equipment...I would look for something more secure with more padding.
@EDG11 ай бұрын
yep, thats true. For anyone carrying camera equipment, I wouldn't recommend this pack. It's too light weight and not enough padding. People should get a camera bag for cameras.

It’s easy to calculate … inch to cm … (52,07x33,02x22,098)/1000 = 38,44 lt

Unfortunately that’s outer dimensions only. It doesn’t take into account any of the padding or internal dividers and material so it’s smaller than 38L

Security is top-of-mind for me when it comes to a backpack. The YKK zippers do allow for a small TSA-approved lock to be used to lock the two zipper pulls together. A little pocket for small important documents, such as a passport, would be nice and it should be located on the shoulder strap side of the backpack so that the user's back prevents anyone from reaching in and accessing the contents while the backpack is being worn.
@EDG6 ай бұрын
yep! Security is very important. Though I definitely never use locking zippers

This backpack would maybe last 1 year on my back before it self destructed. Those straps are not reinforced at all for one. Zipper looks cheap. This is in no way an every day carry. Maybe for a high scool kid who will find a way to destroy anything anyway.

It’s possible, but any bag has the potential to fail depending on how tough you are with the bags. But I will say that even the cheap jansport backpacks back in high school lasted multiple years.

Why would you even use a 40L bag for everyday carry? WTF are you carrying everyday? It's not really marketed as an everyday bag or as an advanced bag. Hence the reason it only costs $ 75. Go spend $ 400 and get your AER, Tortuga or Tom Binh and get a bag that will withstand your manly adventures!
