In Reason to Believe she has clean and distortion vocals. She is nothing like her stage persona. She is into animal rights and is a vegan. In interviews she is one of the nicest people. She does clean and distortion vocals in what she did with Kamelot and her previous band The Agonists.

This song is more MELODIC not cleaner (whoever told you that either was a troll or doesn't understand music). She did lots of clean vocals on her previous band, The Agonist and she also sings on Kamelot's Liar Liar ;) PS. I also appreciate how much she tries to enunciate while growling, you can understand pretty much all she is saying :)

Arch enemy is 100% growling. They're melodic death metal. The "nice" sound comes from the guitars not from the voice. They are a bit lighter today with Alyssa so I believe they recommended this song because it's more "friendly" lol. To enjoy this type of bands (and any band), you don't have to focus on the singer but in the whole sound and you'll love it.

If you want to hear her cleans, Reason to Believe and Handshake with Hell are the best. The Watcher, You will know my name are great songs too. Or not Arch Enemy, but The Wolf you Feed by Nita Strauss featuring Alissa White-Gluz is great, so make clean vocals and one of the best guitar solos I've ever heard.

Alissa is Canadian so it might be filmed in Canada - not that far from Alaska! She sings clean with Kamelot.... she sang clean with Nightwish in Denver 2012 (with Elize Ryd- now in Amaranth) !... and "clean" with The Agonist....

Aside from the song Reason to Believe. You could check out the official video for Liar Liar by Kamelot. You could also check her band previous to Arch Enemy called The Agonist. The style of The Agonist is much more balanced of Growling with Clean Singing. Fun fact Alissa is a vegan and is VERY active in the animal rights community.

As many has said before here so have Arch E Only one song which has clean singing and its Reason To Belive. But to me Arch Enemy is about awesome guitar riffs and solos and Melodic guitar parts combined with growling. They are an Melodic Death metal band. The former singer Angela Gossow is probably one of the most famous female growlers of all time, now She is the manager of the band. If You want to see Angela in full force, i recomend that you reacts to Nemesis - Live from Tokyo 2008.

If you want to hear Alissa's clean vocals you really need to go into her back catalogue with her old band Agonist, most of their songs have a clean portion where in contrast Arch Enemy is nearly all straight up harsh vocals. Agonist - Panophobia, Business Suits and Combat Boots and Thank You Pain all display her range mixing clean and harsh vocals.

There were a few things I thought of when you comment and it looks like it was recorded in Sweden and it is a Swedish band (the ground looks like it does after the last ice age) Since then she has performed with NW before Floor joined (2012 Denver I think it was) and Eliza Ryd who is a singer in Amaranthe (and both of them have been interviewed by Floor on her own YT channel (Arch Enemy and Amaranthe and Sabaton are from a not so big area in southern sweden) recommends that you check (do not react but more for fun) when among other things this girl jumps in (mostly it was Eliza when she tried out for NW after Tarja so she knew some songs) think they also came in at the end of Floors frozen performance But songs I want to recommend are also Nemmesis from 2016 with her. But "reason to believe" also "the world is yours" and "you will know my name" and if you want a song with tempo is "Race"

can also mention that she is an activist for animal rights and has been vegan for over half her life and before she was a vegetarian and the former singer who was also her vocalist teacher is also vegan and they got to know the product long before so when the former singer wanted stop so she suggested her and it works well (Alissa is Canadian but ends up in a Swedish band) and it was a few years ago that Jinjer was connected to them and toured in Europe for a few months together

I agree with you... death metal vocsks are not my thing. . But if you want something fun, but a little older...Canadian fun Rockers Killer Dwarfs. They never made it big, but have a cult following even today. The song is Keep Your Spirit Alive... a tounge in cheek rocker that will put a smile on your face. Alissa has been an over achiever her whole life, excelling more in theater and the art subjects. She was an art teacher before doing this full time. She's really cool. The perfect daughter, sister or mother, etc. 😁🤘 This is one of Arch Enemy's softest songs so if this is hard to stomach, then you're out of luck. Reason To Believe is your only song left to hear then, which doesn't quite represent the Arch Enemy sound. This song doesn't either but it has some elements of their sound. Arch Enemy is good LIVE! They get big energetic crowds usually. Another thing that might interest is that Alissa didn't write the lyrics. For this song it was Michael Amott the founder (red haired guitar player). When Alissa writes lyrics it's usually dark, angry and bitter. Which is cool too. Me likeeee.... She makes her own outfits herself too (being into theater etc). She doesn't have any staff helping her out. She's independent. You wouldn't think that looking at her. Haha, ok, I've said too much. Enjoy!

Tom, I agree with your wife Sarah (I hope I spelled her name right). I too dislike the overall theme of the song. The position of the song seems to be that it's right and good to elevate your personal opinion of what's right to the level of highest authority. This common theme in popular music has always bothered me. Let me hasten to add this is ONLY my personal opinion and everyone has the right to agree or disagree. But the moral relativism in the song is a turnoff for me.

This genre focuses on providing melody with instruments, the vocals are just another distortion instrument. This is what these guys prefer their music to be, it's just a matter of taste. You don't have to understand why some people like oranges better than apples lol
