Fyi, "Dimashify" is already in the Urban Dictionary, definition (1) being: to transform an existing song through the personality of Dimash Kudaibergen so as to render it utterly his own, (2): to set a bar/standard so high that it will never again be rendered to the original, (3): to cause the listener extreme feelings such as love, pain, happiness, leaving them in doubt, awe, tears at times, goosebumps, or lost (as to) whether what they just heard actually is only one human singing or an alien, (4): a person who has been Dimashified normally had been infected with Dimashitis Stage 1 unknowingly. Yes Lionel Richie heard Dimash sing this song and threw his dummy out and banned Dimash from ever singing HIS song again, what a child, I never liked this song till now, Richie’s version was boring and well over played. Dimash put life into a boring song

I am a Singer was a competition. The singers were already great professionals in China. Dimash was a wild card. The first day of the show, he was the first singer and SOS was his song. 600 million people watched his performance. He received such a response that , next day, they had to give him 24 h. security. As you know, he has done many things in China like, songs for video games, musicals, Jackie Chan movie soundtrack. And many life shows. We are really Dimashifyed by this great artist. 🙏❤️

Using folk arrangements like “Sybyzgi”, beautiful Kazakh wind instrument; Dimash skillfully mixes Eastern and Western styles, a bit of Kazakh folklore in between, creating a unique and mind-blowing ending. The last sentence of the song Dimash says "Wö-ai-ni" is “I love you” in Mandarin, out of respect for China. the phrase that speaks at the end are “Thanks” and “I love you”. Thank you for your reaction to "Hello"! This is a guest performance at the Singer competition in 2018 (he competed in 2017). As for reactions by the original singers, from what I've read in comments, Dimash is not allowed to sing "Hello" anymore, idk if L. Richie has to do smth with this ban or just his label. Dimash is also not allowed to sing "Opera 2" by Vitas anymore. On the contrary, for the songs "The Show Must Go On", "Adagio" and "Daybreak" Brian May, Lara Fabian and Han Hong liked his renditions and congratulated him.

Dimash doesn't do contest anymore, he holds his own concerts in the many different places and countries around the world. I saw Dimash in New York city 2019,it was the best concert that I have ever seen. Dimash is what we call, "Ethereal "he is a "Prodigy." Loved by millions in every part of the world, as a matter of fact, Dimash needs to have his concerts held in stadiums and or in Arenas, to hold the amount of people who are there to see him, When Dimash is going to have a concert there are so many thousands of people who wait for hours in line to get in, wanting to see Dimash live in concert ,that is no joke, it's really something to witness and be a part of,when you see Ogni Pietra video," Yes, that's what a Dimash concert is like, all of his concerts are just like that. If you get the chance , find out where his next concert will be and go see him perform live, you will never be the same again. Although some people prefer the simplicity of Lionel Richie's version I like Dimash' cover a lot. I don't think there is anyone on this planet at the moment who can outsing Dimash. He's the king.

The only original singer I know who has talked about Dimash (and sung with him) is Lara Fabian. She sent him congratulations after his performance of Adagio on Singer. Lara calls him "Cosmic Boy."

From what I understand, the Lionel Richie people forbid Dimash from singing it again. Sad and unfortunate because so many younger people had never heard it before Dimash and he could have reintroduced the song to the entire world all over again. Some artist like Lara Fabian not only was impressed by Dimash covering Adagio but became his friend, helped write a song for him and is his friend now. I have zero musical talent but IF I wrote a song and someone like Dimash sang it.... I was be so honored.

This was the final show of The Singer 2018, the year after Dimash competed. The final show is a fundraiser. They bring back audience favorites like Dimash, and the singers perform in teams, just to spice things up a bit. Dimash's team won. :-D But the money went to an environmental charity.

there exist a term "Dimashified" . it described what happened to a song after Dimash decided to perform it. Listen to Love is like a dream by the original singer and/or any other cover before Dimash get to it. Some one mentioned that most famous Russian singers are reluctant to do a cover of that song anymore, wonder why ? As for reaction of original singer to Dimash's cover, they fall into 2 camps, those who appreciated what Dimash had done to their song and support him, i.e. Lara Fabian, Han Hong, Alla P. or those who get jealous and forbid Dimash to perform it again. i.e. Lionel, Vitas

Dimash is one of my favorite singers, by far the most versatile singer with high quality from end to end of his music extremes, but to me, not many of his covers are better than the original, he more made them his own, he changed it too much to be better than the original, not to mention dimash (young dimash) tends to choose already all-time great songs to cover that no matter how great of a singer dimash is, you can't outdo an already timeless classic. I love both versions, i definitely listen to dimashs version way more.

Dimash es mi pasión. Y ahí, en esa canción, sólo tenía 22 años para hacer 23 en mayo (nació el 24/05/1994). Y sigue mejorando, algo que no me entra en la cabeza y mi admiración por él crece. I think Dimash's song War and Peace from his 2020 concert in Kiev is worth your watching. A clip from the concert has large English subs that make it great to watch Dimash sing and easily read the lyrics to get the EPIC message of the song, about carnage of wars and effects on children. Shows DIMASH's humanity and love of the world and many new dears have not seen it, but they need to, Dimash said in Kiev that he wrote the song about 5 years ago.

Dimash just slayed this Lionel Ritchie song and I'm sure made Lionel smile. What a performance! This is from his guest appearance to the show in 2018, so the contestants didn't have to fear how good he was.

Lionel Ritchie has heard this song. He thought it was so good he banned him from ever singing it again! 🤢 This was the year after he was in the Singer competition in China. He was invited back as a guest artist. Jessie Jay win the competition that year. They changed the rules after Dimash to allow a foreign competitor to win. There’s a video on utube of Jessie backstage watching this performance and being totally blown away. 😍

Not really true, and perhaps just a rumor. While Mr Ritchie's producer, or record label may have said no, it was probably because of copyright. Singer has a way of ignore those on this show. Lionel Ritchie has no problem with others singing his songs.

@@КопжасарЕржуманов That is the problem, if there was/is one. Singer probably did not get permission to have the song performed on their show before it was done. It was done without permission. When the issue came up, I would guess Dimash (and his advisors) decided to avoid any further problems, he would not do it again. Much like the issue with Opera 2.

I love the eastern part, my heart melts every time I hear it! I read once that when Lionel Richie heard Dimash's version he said "this is my song, did I sing that?". To say that it was beautifully interpreted :)

Not a competition but he was a guest here in 2018 the flute is a Sybyzgy which is a traditional Kazakh instrument. Dimash will always show his Kazakh culture in all his work whether by vocals or by the instruments he chooses. At the end he says I love You in Mandarin and Kazakh. He is already a famous superstar in most parts of the world and his huge stadium solo concerts are epic and legendary 🌎

Dimash was originally invited to China to perform as the wild card or their show which is a contest between professionals with a huge beautiful trophy at the end. I have to say, the Orchestra in Singer is amazing. They adapt to any sing and of course, make them sound better although Dimash can sing by himself and sound glorious. Anyway, for this song, he appeared as a guest at the end of Singer 2018. Dimash did this as a special performance at the end of Singer 2018. Jesse J was on the show and one of her managers is married to one of Lionel Richie's daughters so you can bet he heard it.
