One of the only songwriters that truly deserves the overused title of a genius.

Kathleen Brennan deserves her share of credit here. And her vinyl collection. :)

I think this album was his best, the truest expression of his visionary genius. Sounds like it was recorded in a barn in the middle of the night in 1935.

Tom is one of the few, after decades in the business, that does his own thing and it always works. He's an artist that everyone is aware of, and no one is aware of

Possibly my favorite song of his! I love how subtle and deliberate the music is, setting such a perfect tone for the story vignettes. So vivid! A lot of my favorite Waits songs are on this album. I absolutely love it!

It is my firm assignment that we will be teaching his work In music Conservatory school. And students will be constantly confused about exactly what eara he existed in.

The first verse of this gives me wicked twin peaks vibes. I'm assuming the other verses are another show or film. The last one gives me Mulholland drive vibes. Nice.

Chills. You just gave me chills. I want David Lynch amd Tom to do a collaboration, _on anything,_ before one of them goes. In the dark and tortured corners of my imagination, Tom and David make broken furniture for misshapen men.

I know how my life began. I'm aware of the things that I did that were right, and all too well the things that I did that were more than wrong. Sadly, the only thing that keeps me alive is that I HAVE to know "How's It Gonna End"
