Daniel: I've given you sht many times for acting like a jerk, being incoherent, failing to make a point, etc. But this video - at least the 2nd half of it - is one of the most powerful videos I think you've ever made. It bought a tear to my eye as you narrated the outro. It's a powerful message that I don't believe any cop watcher has ever made. Thanks for making this video for Officier Maier & his family; And also for all the LEOs across this country to learn from.

I do not think Daniel ever acted as a jerk unless the cops provoke him. I am no fan of the Torrance police department; they usually pull me over for bogus or minor traffic violations. I do not think I never meet the gentleman but if Daniel says he is a good guy I believe him. It is the good that seems to always die young, I wished I had words to console the family, but I hope Daniel's videos will be Officer Meier Legacy.

@@walterheisenberg9278You haven't watched enough of Daniel's videos then. lol There are countless videos where he goes out in a bad mood and acts a fool. He even openly admits he was wrong some of the time, which is commendable. I've watched almost all of his early videos (up to around 2020 or so), and there are quite a variety of attitudes, "personalities," and mindsets in that video collection, as it relates to Daniel. Definitely plenty to be critical of. But, I think he realizes that and does the best he can. Our best is all any of us can do, right? I don't bully him or constantly tear him down, but I've had my share of moments where I've been floored by his actions and given him a piece of my mind in the comments section. At any rate, Daniel has a good heart and I am impressed and deeply moved by the message in this video. p.s. Look up the officer's name on Google. He actually took legal action against the Torrance PD for discrimination, harsh work environment, and covering up wrongdoing. He really was one of the few really good guys out there in LE, and he apparently ended up leaving the LE profession entirely due to the bullsht he endured at Torrance PD. (It's properly spelled Maier, not Meier.) He also earned a Heroism Medal whilst he was still in training as a Torrance PD officer for selflessly risking his life to save someone from the inside of a burning car. He wasn't even a full-fledged officer yet!

I appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment. I think I felt exactly the same as you described in your comment. I thought the last half was important. But I suspected most viewers would not make it through my babbling at the beginning. Still, I do the best I can to make my point. I know my stuff is hard to watch for a lot of the people who try. I have another officer Meier video coming that means another chance to make a quality video. From what I recall about Meier, he made it very easy. Always patient and helpful with a comment. Don't know what else to say. I guess thank you.

108 I tried to research a little about what you mention. I saw it said he was terminated and that had me confused because there was no info I could locate about it. If you have a link or info you can send it to [e-mail] I didn't bring any of that up because it seemed to be inconclusive. As in absolutely no facts to base anything on. So I judged on what I saw. Don't know why I never heard about him passing either. Seems like somehow there would have been more attention. But this wasn't supposed to be an investigation into him anyway. Not sure if his mom even saw it but I will probably send her a link and point her to the second half. Take care.

I just heard of you yesterday I was born in EL Segundo. I'm almost 50. When I was young, I remember our first black cop. The cops were so harsh and racist. They had more on staff then any other cities in the South Bay. Torrance cops were always tough. I never liked them Love watching your videos in my home town the south bay. Thanks for your help Tom!

I ran up on your Channel and I thought to myself what an amazing man you're out there and you're one of the old G's , i seen you talking with the well-respected officer and I thought to myself why can't they all be like this, it's saddened me at the end when I seen your face I knew something happened to him, i would like to say this is a great loss and unfortunately this great officer I know his family is going through hell, I know this was in 21 I think but he was amazing I wish they all could have his dignity the way he cared the way he talked to you what an amazing police officer, and like you said thank you sir this is something his mother can watch and be very proud of God bless and keep safe God Bless America...

Sketch you have been here supporting my efforts and making thoughtful informative comments longer than I can remember. Maybe from the start. I appreciate your comment as always but also it kind of shows you know what is going on. I was struggling and for many reasons completely unable to get anything published. Worse, thousands of published videos had to be put on private for various reasons mostly related to haters who have nothing to do in their life beyond sending fake copyrights strikes to prevent someone else from doing something positive in this world. This video is a perfect example. The mother of Officer Meier became very concerned when she could no longer locate the videos of her son. And dozens of others as well sent emails trying to figure out what happened to this video or that one of their brother sister or whoever. This might be the first one I had the opportunity to replace and I even remade it for her benefit and my own as well. But, recently moved and hopefully should be stress free for my health as well as hoping somehow to get thousands of videos back on line before I am gone from this earth. But, the reason for this response is to say thank you. I appreciate you and your comments over the years.

Why would police need to warn each other about the presence of a member of the public with a camera? How would that knowledge change their behaviour? Do they act differently when they're unobserved?
