I've thought about this a lot. Getting a pilots license is a big deal compared to the easy requirements to drive a car. But if you think about it, driving a car takes much more of your attention every second of your trip. The most important thing to learn in a plane is how to land. When your in the air, other planes are miles away, not two feet driving a car.
