I think your gain/volume point and diminishing returns points are bang on. When you 'crank' a distorted profile w a powered Kemper through a cab vs a real amp thru same cab same volume (I did this w Marshall JMP), they're basically indistinguishable in the real world, even in feel. They just are!! The Kemper even captures the magic in my Two Rock. I always sorta refuse to believe it, because the two rock sounds fantastic, until I test them back to back again...

Play them out of a real cab. Or add your own IR or can component. Done

The kemper is amazing by no means at all,.. I use it a lot but live so I do not need to carry heavy load. but the thing is that [in the studio] you "miss" the breating of a cab. I admit it is more a "feel" thing. I do miss the tube vibe. This being said I am a kemper fan!! and my reaction is on like microscope level. Great channel and keep up the good work!

Thx for sharing your knowledge! Could you please explain a bit about pres and apis used? Keep on rocking

Thanks for this exellent video. Since i've been told that the Kemper won't do delay fx like reverb or flanger ect, is it a good idea to introduce bending, or tremolo while cloning or fine tuning ?

Thanks for this video. I got a question about how to set up the Kemper amp and the reference amp before start to profile. Could You explain that a bit? Do I have to chosse a profile in advance for the Kemper amp (as a base)?

So, you’re using a hardware unit to sum the Fathead and the 57? I’ve tried running through a bus in Pro Tools, then sending a mono signal via Radial EXTC 500 to my Kemper Rack. If my results had been as good as yours, I wouldn’t have had to buy your “everything” pack 😆 I have a Two-V and API 3124... maybe your gain staging is key to getting great profiles. Can you talk about how hot you set your pre’s, and how you can set a Two-V when it doesn’t have any signal lights?

I have a Matchless DC-30 (2x12 mismatched speakers) and a Tone King Imperial Head with a 60's Fender 2x12 cab. I often run the amps in tandem with an A/B/Y switcher. The combo of those two amps running together sounds amazing....how would I go about making a profile of that (Kemper Stage)? Would it just be both amps mic'd up and then run into a mixer with a single signal running from the mixer into the Kemper? Oh...and spot on about the "accuracy" comment. The whole argument about Kemper vs. Real thing in invalid because the amp in the room moves air = physics. The Kemper run straight in sounds like a mic'd signal = the sound of a great amp without your ears collapsing. When I am recording or having to play in a FOH environment, I will take the Kemper 9.9 times out of 10. Why??? Because moving an 85 lb combo and a 60lb head/cab setup is not worth the extra 2% tonal difference that is just going to disappear into a bad mix (because yes, many FOH sound guys suck at mixing). If I need that "in the room" feel, I just run the main out from the Kemper into a Seymour Duncan powerstage and then into the Fender cab, while the profile runs into my DAW.

Great Video HW. Can you please do a video or videos on wet/dry/wet setups. I'm using my kemper as dry and axe fx ll for all wet. I'm getting a direct signal from kemper when I turn amp off in the axe fx ll. I just picked up a Sennheiser e906 Dynamic Wired Professional Microphone.

Is there a benefit to profiling my amps with or without a cabinet/speaker simulation engaged? I use a captor x as a load and speaker emulation.

HW I want to profile or capture my original 1972 Marshall 50 watt amp. I have a Kemper and a Quad Cortex. I got awesome Marshall strait 4x12 cabs from the 70's but I am afraid if I crank them they would be heard by neighbors and I do want to advertise. I have and OX, Two notes captor and captor X. What can I do to get the best results?

@@ToneJunkieTV Yes I know HW, what just joking. How’s about the QC? I always ear fizzy highs on all the demos.. and not really convincing for a real amp guy like me. Would love to ear your first impressions :)

Hi can you do the same thing with the Kemper Stage por favor. Gracias amigo😬😬😂
@CrazyCow5003 жыл бұрын
So when you profile an amp, it's capturing the amp at those exact settings, correct? Meaning that you can't use the Kemper to simulate what the amp would sound like if changed the settings? So you'd have to profile a clean version, an edge of breakup version, and then a separate dimed version?
