The L/R Monitor outs are balanced TRS...sending the same signal as the XLR. So you have a balanced signal in stereo to send to FOH, just use a 1/4" TRS to XLR cable.

I have a huge pedalboard and have been using a power head to run my mono section out to then use stereo pedals in the loop and send to a computer. I only use the amp profile section of the actual kemper, all effects are from my board. It's always seemed so over the top but I love the kemper sound. This seems like it could really simplify things.

The Kemper stage has covered all my bases and I really don't bother using pedals with it. But I am rebuilding a separate pedal board for a specific reason. Stuff like the Kemper Player, ToneX, the UA amp pedals, etc., and more really make it convenient to have a more convenient pedal board solution for those who want to incorporate real pedals with modelers. Great time to be a player - go old school, go digital, or go hybrid.

I would have loved the smaller footprint, but it's not for me. I'll stay happy with the K-stage, wich isn't a bad thing since I don't want a pedal-board. Too many compromise have to be made: 1) The player can only take one expression pedal. 2) No screen to navigate easily (color dots are not helpful with uncertain light and sight-conditions on stage especially when being a little nervous. ) 3) I like to use a performance per song, wich also works as a setlist. And you're more flexible to choose different amps for playing in a cover band. 4) You need to rebuild all rigs and cant take advantage of the whole kemper abilities if you want to use both units having consistent sound. 5) The output section is very limited just like the whole unit. 6) No morphing! And so on.... It's a good unit if you just want a 4-5 channel amp with few effects. Maybe have the choice to have a different amp from time to time... Using it with a midi-controller and other pedals makes no sense to me. Then you're better off with the kemper stage and have it all in a box.

If the Player was the only Kemper model it would have more than enough FX to get by. Keeping in mind knowing Kemper there will be continuous updates both free and paid for. All it needs is the addition of the Kemper A/B switch, and hopefully a future update can give the option of using the Headphone out as an Expression pedal out.

In terms of outputs, can we send the XLR output to the desk with the cab/amp sim on, and at the same time we can send a seperate feed via the monitor output to a "normal" amplified guitar cab on stage with the cab sim turned off? Is that right? If so that's cool because we can still have the old school feeling of having a "reel" amp on stage.

If I have to make compromises and workarounds with a product such as the Kemper player, it is deliberately not designed to be use as such. It would be much better to have 2 line outs instead of a mono xlr, that would make 2 monitor out and 2 main outs, it would be more versatile along with movable amp section. The fact there is no screen to easily check which ir/cab you're playing is a deal killer for me. I don't want to memorize buttons and it's to confusing in a performance. Since you own multiple and apparently would (try to?) use them simulaniously, Im curious what you like, prefer or dislike about the TMP/KP/Helix compared to eachother. Like would u like to use kemper's amps, tmp drive and helix reverb..? Also I didnt know if it was even possible to chain these big modelers, sounds fun to try if you have them. I think the profile player limits this hypothetical chain as it doesnt have effects loop so I think it must be placed at the end of the chain? Personally thinking about either the Helix (LT) or Fractal FM9 to replace any amps/pedals for me. Helix seems the best priced product by far, but I feel only the Fractal products would 'last' at the highest level for years to come, given my belief that we'll get some new '2.0' modelers in 2024/2025 now most brands products are getting pretty old and are running out of DSP for new updates

Being a Kemper owner for over 10 years, I want to like this so bad. For me Kemper dropped the ball here. A player plays the media it’s supposed to play. Just like a CD player or an mp3 player plays whatever you throw at it as long as it is in the specific format for the player. That’s what I expected from this player. Grab any rig with whatever fx I have set and play it. Also no screen? Forget it. This player needs a lot of work. The lack of stereo (dual amp) operation is the biggest mistake Kemper will ever make. Kemper's market is at least 60% worship guitarists who run stereo rigs with their delays and reverbs IN FRONT of two amps, or one of the stereo amp modeler pedals.

You can get a used Kemper rack or toaster for like $900 now. It's definitely worth just shelling out the extra for a used Kemper than bothering with this at all. I was super excited when this was announced but it's pretty disappointing IMO. No FX loop is crazy.

So Kemper is not so smart after all? Apparently so. This product is getting blasted and I get the feeling kemper don’t care.

Guys ! This is an awesome pedal. I don't see limitations. Personally I travel a lot and throwing this in my carry on is the perfect pedal and companion. And I get those amazing Kemper sounds I own on my main Kemper profiler. I was always looking for Kemper to come out with a miniature pedal that I can load my custom favorite Kemper sounds and do my local and traveling gigs. I'm sure some updates they may offer some of the effects that we have on the regular Kemper.
@vedder10 Жыл бұрын
You don't see any limitations? Let's just start with a lack of a display? It would be nice to look down and see what you're currently running instead of having to memorize your mapped layout. We are talking about 2023 and no display. I just think that's a little odd.
@vaughanmacegan4012 Жыл бұрын
Lack of display, meaning if you're at a gig or practice you will have no idea what's wrong (and it will go wrong at some point) and have to find a way to fix it (I don't own a mobile phone and never will) and that is a huge problem, lack of FX slots, inability to use patches created on it's big brother - without dicing it up to fit. And even worse *NO* FX loop!!!!!

@@vedder10 Most floor pedals DO NOT HAVE SCREENS .. once u get your favorite presets you're good to go. Why would anyone want to be playing with their settings at a gig ? It's a guitar pedal on steroids !!

@@dougyfresh2054 The previous comment sums it up. If you have any extensive experience performing at live gigs YOU WILL run issues with your equipment that requires tweaking, even during a song.

I don't get the hype. Kemper seems to be stuck in the past compared to the competition. underpowered, overpriced, no screen, no modeling. why would anyone buy this over a HX stomp? you could buy an ampero 2 stomp and a tonex for the same price!
