Instead of lowering the pickup to put strings thru the bridge, take the bridge back off. Then put all the strings thru and put the bridge back in place...

Hello again Steve. I do have some information about this Tonepros bridge that you may be unaware of. It has a "12 radius, whereas the PRS that you have has a 10" radius. It may not make too much difference. However, if I were you I would use the original PRS bridge combined with the Tonepros locking stud bolts. I have done this on my Bernie Marsden guitar.

I was not aware of the 12 inch radius and thank you for the info. The PRS one is probably perfect but the cost is more than twice that of the Tonepros. As much as I love my PRS guitars some of the pricing is high to me on pickups and parts etc. I need to check out he Bernie Marsden. I've heard great things about it. Not sure if yours is an SE version but in general they are really high quality. I have a couple. On another note if you can find out why I don't get e-mail notifications when someone comments on videos like yourself that would be great.

Which model of Tonepros locking studs did you use?

12” radius makes no difference as far as I can tell. Feel and playability are really good.

Problem is you can’t get the intonation properly set with the original PRS bridge. Mine was close but it was a little off.

Great video! Thanks, I'm purchasing the gold version from tonepros which is an extra 15.00 since my custom 22 artist has all gold hardware. Much appreciated!!!

Glad this one worked for you better than the last one. I've had similar frustrations with "direct replacement" aftermarket bridges as well. Recently on an old 70's Atilla that had a pretty torn up original Badass bridge. Used a Tonepro's like you did. Used right code for the replacement, but posts like yours, were too fat, and threaded differently. Didnt want to pull and redrill the inserts on a 40 year old guitar. Tried using original posts but to much slop, so the bridge kicked forward under tension on an angle which would mess with the sound, looked bad and raised the action. Used some shims, and solved that, but the saddles still actually sit 1/8" too high over stock which makes the action too high on the high E with the bridge already slammed. Will use the bridge on a custom build, but kinda crazy that these issues aren't worked out before going to market. Still using the old Badass for now, but really wanted to try the Tonepros based on the reviews. Seems like the metric/standard deal isn't their strength.

Prs S2 have imported hardware, the AVT2P is only for the core models wich all have the US Hardware.

Just made the same mod to my S2. Worked out great. The guitar intonates perfectly and sounds really resonant. The 12” radius of the bridge makes absolutely no difference to playability or feel.

Because it's a metric thread doesn't mean that it's Korean? 98% of the World’s population uses metric dimensions? The metric system is French originally....
@steveconerocknroll5 жыл бұрын
I only say that because all off the electronics are made in Korea with the S2 line or at least thats what I read and heard from other videos. Didn't know about the French thing thanks for the info.
