There was some interview where Tony said that he hasn't listened to radio, watched TV or internet ever since 1983... That explains the uniqueness. He did this without ANY outside influences.
@PawlOwl7 жыл бұрын
how is that even possible tho? does he live in the woods without any contact with the outside world? how does he know about youtube then?
@RVNT9OE7 жыл бұрын
No, he lives in an apartment and knows about "technology" and what not... He did tho say that he hasn't listened to Radio or watched TV in years which is possible but I think he's pretty much caught up with modern times. There was a mini documentary done about him. The guy does seem to have some mental health problems based on what he talked about.
@CidGuerreiro12346 жыл бұрын
He had a mental breakdown that pretty much ruined his life. He lost his house, wife and kids, and judging by his songs he likely had his fair share of drugs too. He actively refuses any money that comes from his music and image, and he uses his own shit for sculpture. Of course it's impossible to not be caugh up with modern times when you live in the city but mentally this guy is beyond the reach of anyone else.

I unironically like this one. It has a very different tone compared to most of his other comedic, vulgar songs; feels like he was completely serious here. Of course, it’s his particular brand of serious, but still. Always interesting to see a genuine side to normally exaggerated performance artists
@cj11320014 жыл бұрын
There's nothing ironic about what he's doing, he sings about love & sex because it's his inspiration.
@ItsMeVolatility4 жыл бұрын
Cj Campos No of course! I guess I’m saying I like this song for a different reason than I do “Pressure Zone” (though Pressure Zone is an absolute classic and I love it to death lol) . I don’t think any of his music is ironic per say, just some is more ‘out there’ and flashy with purposefully weird videos.
@cj11320014 жыл бұрын
@@ItsMeVolatility I understand, I just see his interpretations as raw emotion constantly flowing just like any passionate performer displays. I see him as punk not comedy
@cj11320014 жыл бұрын
@@ItsMeVolatility I think the virality of pressure zone at the time was because gay culture wasn't broadly understood at the time which means it wasn't taken seriously as art
@ItsMeVolatility4 жыл бұрын
Cj Campos Yeah I completely get the perspective of liking his stuff for non comedy related reasons. I commend Tonetta for creating what he wants, exactly as he wants it, without worrying or conforming it to be more accepted by the public. Huge respect to him for staying true to himself, and by doing so, helping others realize/express their ‘oddities’. I just also happen to find his content hilarious

Here are the lyrics to the best of my knowledge..! Enjoy. “My heart belongs to only you. Time has proved a thing or two. One is the way that you look at me, and the other’s the way I stare at you. Fate is the date when I met you babe. Just then I knew what’s mine, is with me all the time. Love has no boundaries, No sex to distinguish the other from one. Love has proved, oh to me, If you ever get together will be Witness to see. Oh I can’t wait to make love with you. Time has proved a thing or two. One is the way that you look at me, and the other’s the way I stare at you...”
