For those of us that live far from any real store, a ten cent sticker on the box or a mention in the ads somewhere that says ya need 3 AA batteries would be terrific. Speaking of batteries, I had to find a sorceress to figure out how to open the battery compartment. She now owns my next-born child as payment for her service. I’ll let you know how the guitar thing works out. Thank you for the timely delivery!

One minute of installation; five minutes of batteries... Great vid. ;)

Great video you get right to the point. I also like how you show what the guitar sounds like before and after. Others I checked out talk so much before they even showed you how to put it on. You have cool guitars.

Breedlove installs a unique item called a Bridge Doctor which keeps a flat top flat,behind the bridge. It is part of why they resonate so welleg. the entire body. Don't fuck it up with the TWA

I agree, sadly they were finally on sale so I bought one and two additional attachments. Unplugged ita hard to hear the effects at least foe my 3 guitars. They also feed back unplugged already so it's hard for them not to plugged in. Now the worse part, you are right even though it is minimal 4 point x brace foot print it took away some tone and mostly volume from my once very loud all.solid parlor guitar. Feeds back in my guild d140ce. I also have it in my all solid mahogany dread guild and that's the only one it does decent in.

Dude I totally had the same problem with the batteries. The cap doesn't lock smoothly. You have to push the batteries down.

My guitar is only 2 1/4 inches deep. I doubt the big Magnet would be easy to put in(?) Could the Amp be attached to the back of the guitar using strips of Blu-Tack, please?
@Arrowheadbob2 жыл бұрын
The brace is only 1 3/16” high. You should gave room

Adding a bridge doctor from Stewart- Macdonald will add a new full sound to even a cheap acoustic. Installation is more for a pro guitar tech to tackle. I have done at least 3 guitars, all with improved, full body resonance. Internal brace is a cantilever like a suspension bridge, when tightened with a hex head wrench similar to neck trussrod adjustment, the bellying behind the bridge which raises string height over the fretboard, and caused by too heavy strings, or incorrect tuning, or humidity changes, is lowered to give improved playability and the bonus of increase resonance throughout. IMPORTANT! For a TWA to function, you need an already installed piezo under saddle transducer/mic, otherwise no function what-so-ever!

Raja Watts to me the guitar sounded way better with the tonewood amp yes I know exactly how the USA Breedlove guitars are built. I've been to the factory and even have a video on my channel. I'm not sure why everything has to be critiqued so hard because something may work better for you does not mean it works better for everyone else.

Is that bridge Doctor any good for guitars that don't necessarily have a belly problem?

So, without built-in electronics (1/4" output), it's a no go with this? What about Ovation guitars with a curved back?
@juanvaldez54225 жыл бұрын
You can pickup (pun intended) "cheap" yet high quality and great sounding sound hole pickups off ebay or amazon for 15 bucks. In particular, there is one on ebay for acoustic that is an unbranded metal humbucker looking sound hole pup for 14 bucks. I got one not expecting much at all, but was pleasantly suprised. Awesome acoustic pup and It should work for this. Its a golden age for gear as even cheap chinese stuff sounds good.

I like the idea and the unit sounds great. But the one thing that bothers me is having to put stuff in and on a nice acoustic guitar. I would worry about maintaining the integrity of the instrument itself. Seems easy enough to install but sometimes shit happens and then what? I think less expensive guitars would be better candidates for the TWA. Why would you want to mess with the structural resonance or design of a really nice acoustic?

Most all resonance is effected by what you do regarding the guitars top. That is the main "radiator" of the guitars sound/tone. I have martins, and guilds,gibsons. All quite expensive models Also an Olson SJ Cutaway...$13,000 guitar. Also a classical nylon made from 800 year old "submerged" cedar. A very special instrument. No problem...sound or damaging the guitar. Its just nice to sit around and play,in a relaxed environment...on the couch,etc and have some cool effects. I have a Tonewood X brace in all my guitars so I can move it around from guitar to guitar. If I ever want to not use one,in the future(don't know I wouldn't) I just take the X brace out...done. Just held in with sticky pads. No impact to your instrument.

Dude . . . I know you can't be cool if you look like your trying to be cool, but that doesn't mean you have to be lame-o. Engage the audience. Do a little editing. Maybe talk about the thing a little. Batteries? Really?
