With this unit can you get a sound from your acoustic that can sound like an electric? I'm doing a short gig where I am only bringing my acoustic but on a couple songs I need to do a solo with a more distorted, crunchy, or overridden electric guitar tone. Can it do that?

I commute by bike with my guitar on my back to play at coffeehouses etc. All I have is a nylon string guitar with no plug-in pickup. So does this also work with guitars with no pickup? Also, does this "amplify", make your guitar sound louder without needing an outside amp? If you take a mic and run it to "input" will it also amplify your voice? In this video they have a mic near the guitar, do they have it turned off? Thanks!
@AlexSpetz4 жыл бұрын
You need a pickup as the output from your guitar is what goes to the input of the Tonewoodamp :)
@peterzuehlke5 жыл бұрын
Think the Captain's ears are right. Lee kept saying the sound was coming from the back. It's the back of the guitar that is being vibrated. So probably sound coming off there too.

@BluesInSeattle3 жыл бұрын
There is a bit of a misnomer in this video. You can't just swap it from guitar to guitar without the inner magnet cross piece in each guitar. That's held on by a sticky thing inside and once you pop it off, you need new stickies and you'd have to restring or try to put it in with very loose strings.
@paulneedham98852 жыл бұрын
you dont need to stick if you dont want to. The magnet will hold it in place. The stickies are for permanent fixing

Definitely the best and only alternative to a transacoustic guitar if you want to have these effects on your normal guitars
@NiceGuysTTV4 жыл бұрын
Is that microphone hooked up? I understand that the noises are still naturally from the guitar hole but are they actually that loud? Or are we hearing it from a speaker?
@vespass2255 жыл бұрын
I think it feels kinda weird that you act as if it was a totally new idea and unique for the Tonewood amp. In fact Yamaha developed the basics of this long time ago and as you know use it in their "Transacoustic" guitars, which have been sold for two years at least. And yes, the ToneWood amp is much more versatile since possible to move between different guitars and stringinstruments, but it was not their basic idea. That surprised and overwhelmed you could not possibly have been, right?
@bradatherton93694 жыл бұрын
Take it easy, killer. The ToneWoodAmp has been around since at least October of 2016, before the Yamaha. I too learned of the Yahama first, thinking it came first. But with a little backstudy, give this guy some credit. Both are great ideas.

Has anyone thought about trying this on an electric? Could you control the length of the delays/reverbs to actually cause it to make selective feedback on a distorted electric (that sound would obviously only be in the pickups and in the amp, we wouldn't be looking for any acoustic effects here). It would almost be like what an ebow could do?

@thedevilinthecircuit14145 жыл бұрын
You install a super lightweight neo magnet inside your guitar that is easily removed. The Tonewood module sticks to that (through the wood). I’ve been using this on my Gibson J45 for more than four years and it sounds great. It doesn’t affect the normal tone of the guitar when the module is removed.
