I like how you do most of the demos with a less expensive HB bass which proves you get can great sounds without spending a ton

That particular line of HB basses was made to copy first gen Sandberg designs. They play like twice their price, I am so sad I sold mine

The entire sound of an electric instrument is in the electronics, so as long as those aren't trash, your instrument will sound great. Tone wood, finish, nut and fret material are all snake oil.

​@bateman2112 Setup is also important. Like 15 years ago you would get absolute trash in that HB price range that was almost impossible to setup decently. Not to mention sharp fret endings. Today you can get a bass for under 400 $ that should be more than enough for all hobby players.
