IK needs to update the sofrware within the pedal, so the main knob can act as a scroller for the 20 models you can host within the pedal. Since each is definable by a light hue, this should be, in theory, no issue for them to I implement. I say - touch stomp+ALT until 3-coolo flash - then ALT press. From there, scroll with the main knob through your color hue presets. Bingo.

I am glad to see that it did not take long for a video demo for this product showing it's bass balls. Thanks - subbed. The only thing i have to say about the ToneX stuff is, I wish it was connectable to mobile (iOS/Android) instead of only a desk/laptop. It would make this at least 10x more enticing. Bluetooth inclusion maybe? That would be a nice touch, IK!

are you running a mono to stereo 1/4 in on the output to your mixer? im new to this & im trying to figure out how to run it in stereo - is it as simple as the cable or would i need a second pedal?

Cancelled my order of the tonex 1. Reason I can get so much more with the tonex box for 119.00 more and not have to fiddle with a connected computer. I don’t need anything else. 299 from Thomann. Special edition.

How exactly would a bass player use this live? If I want to run this to FOH direct it looks like I need a DI box? Then if I'm also running an amp as well as a DI, it doesn't seem like there's any way to have a dual signal to the amp without an IR or split the signal in general. Looks like a great unit, but I don't see it being practical for live use. No KZbin videos seem to address this either.
@beetsq19688 ай бұрын
The unit is still new and not even out to the public yet. Give it time for them reviews and demonstrations to come in It can be used like you want live. Typically, DI boxes will have a balanced (FOH) and unbalanced (amp) output. You can probably plug in like this: Bass>pedal > DI box> *balanced output to FOH *unbalanced output to Amp Cheap DI run around $25 for the bare minimum and will do the job and costs more if you want to go all out.
@DanielGilpatrick8 ай бұрын
The pedal is meant to replace your amp so I don’t see a reason why they would have made a solution for that. If you want to do something like that you should just get a Goodwood box and send a clean spit from your board before it hits the pedal
@pjfields23824 ай бұрын
You could just run it in your amp and use your amps D.I......use your amp for a clean tone..use the pedal for two different tones...

But can it do a SansAmp?

What none of these reviews are mentioning is the fact that the software is almost the same price as the pedal making it essentially double the "awesome low price" if you actually want to use it's capabilities.

The TONEX LE Software that ships with TONEX ONE is more than capable of doing all you need to do. TONEX MAX just gives you more.

For those of us who already use ToneX through the computer and send it to an acoustic amp, this is so worth it.

Might have to go on a payment plan down the road if I really enjoy the pedal. I'm just going to A/B test if the Strymon Iridium or the Tonex One is better.

YES, you can have up to 20 Bass Amp Tone Models stored in the TONEX ONE, bypass the Cab emulation then run onto a conventional bass amp. Thanks, I'm not much of a bass player, but I can play bass parts. And yes, the HP out is going to be handy.

So i can basically save some settings on my tonex without having to connect it to a pc right
@TSR-JiveyTalksTech8 ай бұрын
YES. Both TONEX and TONEX one can be tweaked from the unit with no need to go near a PC or Mac. You do however need the software to change Tone Models (which you are going to want to do) import new Tone Models and import TM's that you have purchased.... from either IK ToneNET of The Studio Rats.

Is anybody else listening to this with their headphones on? All i can hear is the digital processing absolutely killing the natural tone of the bass. Obviously everyone has their own preferences to what sounds good, but this sounds dreadful. Tons of processing & latency. I hope they improve on these issues because i love the idea of the pedal.
@garystackhouse57874 ай бұрын
😂There is NO WAY you are hearing any “digital processing” on KZbin!! The audio signal is processed WAYYY more when you upload a video than it EVER would be by the Tonex pedal. I have a full-size Tonex and apparently the latency is even less on the mini one. I always love these tone warriors who go on about how crappy digital sounds compared to amps on KZbin… I can guarantee you not a single one would be able to tell the difference in a blind test!!
@jeffreyholm89394 ай бұрын
@@garystackhouse5787 You’re absolutely right. I honestly didnt think about the fact that it was uploaded to KZbin. I do know that it sounds really bad in this video. As far as being a “tone warrior” complaining about digital vs amps, I’m definitely not one of them. I was merely commenting on this video alone. It’s sounds bad on here. No need to get all uptight because i have an opinion. But funny you should mention, i was on a session at Starstuck Entertainment just 2 days ago and I brought this exact pedal (borrowed from a friend) to blind test it should i i get time. We ended up recording it against a Tone Hammer DI, a REDDI, & a Palmer PDI-CTC. The TONEX was the only one that everyone in the room guessed correctly. 9 of us all guessed it. Now, that was in a world class studio, soloed, bone dry mix, but it was in fact noticeable enough that all of us heard it. With all that said, i was actually impressed. It won’t be added to my fly rig, but it was very good. You’re right, not a single person would notice it in a mix. But those of us in the studio that day noticed. Cheers. PS, in all seriousness, good cover of A Whiter Shade of Pale. Nicely done.

@@TSR-JiveyTalksTech To be honest for me the sound samples are the least interesting part about any music gear video KZbin videos don't transport the real audio properties anyway and you can make almost any equipment sound good when recorded and mixed.

What a ridiculous comment.
@SxSxG6667 ай бұрын
@@scottchadfield223 What a truly smart critic. It only shows me that you most likely know next to nothing about equipment if you really think a KZbin video can translate real sound. I could easily make the worst guitar sound like a decent instrument and impress newbies like you. I want actual INFORMATION about the gear. How does it handle. Is it fit for the road. How does it compare to the real thing. That's all pieces of information that you can't hear in mixed KZbin sound samples. It might sound ridiculous to you but it's valid information for actual musicians.
