Just got my ToneX today to pair it with my HX Stomp and Digitech Drop, I am VERY impressed! I feel I have one of the best setups a bedroom mongrel like myself could ever have. I look forward to sculpting basically any tones I could want. Its an incredibly powerful duo!

Where do you set your input gain and trim on the tonex? I see you set your send/return levels on the stomp to 0? What about the in/s outs on the stomp, instrument or line? For playing live im guessing you need a power amp to to push it to a cab or cabs. Or does it have enough power to push a 212 cab ??
@benburnett8109 Жыл бұрын
1 important note that Jarrod missed is the fact that using the Tonex in the effects loop of the Hx allows you to have 1 less block that takes alot of DSP. In most presets, you are limited to 8 blocks. With the Amp Block being gone, that frees up a tremendous amount of DSP in the Helix so you can run more advanced DSP type effects. LIke Polyphonic shifts. Also, Helix effects are top tier. So you combine top tier Amp captures of the exact amp you want (no more 1 size fits all soldano for example) and the Top Tier effects of the Line 6 Helix line. Make no mistake: When the Line 6 Helix 2.0 includes all current features, a touch screen and the ability to integate amp captures directly into the Helix 2.0....................Neural is done. Fractal will be sold for pennies on the dollar. No one will want Neural after the boatload of lies they currently have regarding the Quad Cortex. Neural might as well rename their product the Cortec Quadarpelegic. And all other Amp Sim companies will be forced to pay a vig to Line 6 just for the right to exist. And Kemper.......well that dude is stuck in 2012. He just might go into the "new age toaster" business. He just might figure out a new way to capture toast.
@johnbach2380 Жыл бұрын
Dude relax. I messed with Tonex the software for weeks. Fractal and Neural are fine. There are still drawbacks to capturing vs modeling, and tweaking the knobs makes it easily apparent.

neural dsp. worst company ever. Lies about bring the plugin in the unit. Never update their plugin so when they release a new plugin, you need to buy it to have the new feature (like the transpose effect in the john petrucci), the newer plugin always outdated the old one. They take a lot of time to integrated a software to make your preset. Seriously they are the worst on the market. Line 6 rule even if the modeling technology is outdated. The customer service and you got more than what you expected at the beginning

So l have been a Kemper user for years now and l do like the RIG manager. Rig Manager is a stand alone program. Just asking, do l have to have a DAW to open the HX stomp editor? Also, Do l have to have a DAW to open the Tone X software to deep edit the pedal? Please inform me on this. Hope it’s not a dumb question.
@benburnett8109 Жыл бұрын
The HX editor is a standalone program. Line 6 has a program called HELIX NATIVE which is a version of HELIX software that you open inside of your DAW. You do not need a DAW open to use HX EDIT. But you need a DAW to run Native. HOpe that helps.

I appreciate the video. Thumbs up. So what l got out of this video….. the Tone X needs the HX STOMP’s effects and the HX STOMP needs the Tone X captures 🤔 % wise, how much better is the “RAW” Tone X amp sounds compared to Helix and HX STOMP “RAW amp tones? I’m honesty getting GEAR jet lag at this point 🤪
@benburnett8109 Жыл бұрын
My take on this is that the captures sound better than the "modeled" amps. IF the captures are done correctly. Something else to note is that there is a significant DSP limit on the HX stomp. Using the tonex to supply the amp (which is a significant part of DSP) frees up a large amount of DSP so you can use more DSP intensive effects.

I think I may have mentioned the Fractal FM3 before but just curious why you’re not a fan of Fractal as in my opinion they have both the best guitar amp models as well as FX models, IMO. Have you used them before?
@TONEWARSgearshow Жыл бұрын
Thanks for commenting. I have tried the Axe-Fx 3 before. You're right, it's probably the best modeler out there. I just don't like modeling in general. I feel like it lacks depth and the feel that I'm looking for. Profilers give me that.
