TONEX STOMP BOX MODE? MIDI Control

In this video I use a MIDI controller to control IK Multimedia's TONEX Pedal and how to switch on and off the Chorus. Phaser, Flanger, Tremolo and Rotary effects like a stomp box!
The Tonex can produce some amazing guitar tones and now it has extra effects blocks. The unit itself doesn't let you kick them on and off on the fly but I am going to show you how to set things up with this inexpensive MIDI footswitch so you can.
Controlling the modulation effects block of the Tonex with the M-VAVE Chocolate or any other MIDI foot controller by showing you how the MIDI protocol works and what Continuous Controllers you need to set and what values to set them to.

Great video, thanks! Is it possible to toggle between fast and slow rotary AND toggle it on and off. (Using 2 of the switches, I assume).

@@leewarren you could dedicate a button to do that. Set a fast speed in bank A and a slower one in bank B.

hi, could you explain how to use the expression pedal with the chocolate? I can't, I would like to use the program changes to change the presets on my tonex and there are no problems here but at the same time I would like to use the expression pedal to control the delay mix passing through the chocolate, is it possible? what are the settings? Thanks

You can just plug your expression pedal directly into the Tonex.

Yea should do. Its Bluetooth so should work fairly easily but don't ask me how to do it I'm a PC guy lol

@@maidenmopar Tonex isn't Bluetooth. I dare say you could run 2 but you would need a midi merge box since there is no midi in or through in the chocolate.

@@eduardonogueira6441 if you mean can you use the buttons on the Tonex to send midi then nobi don't think that is possible. If you mean can you change preset with the external controller then yes.

@@rolandguilford8301 Thank you. I don't have a Tonex One to test but it doesn't have a midi port. It MAY work over usb but I can't test that. As for multiple effects. No. You can only have one effect per block. So only one at a time from the modulation blocks, one from the delays one from the reverb etc. you can't have for instance chorus and rotary at the same time.

@Hi Leon. Thanks for getting back to me. That all makes sense. Is it possible to have a delay running alongside a modulation, each assigned to a separate switch? I have a Tonex pedal incorporated into a pedal board for all my live gigs, but thinking of stripping back. This might be an ideal solution! Thanks for your help mate 👍

I got a midi maestro programmable midi pedal and loaded the tonex pedal midi info onto the android app and all I'm trying to do is turn the delay/modulation/reverb bypass is all you'd think it was simple fuc no!!! It's the most complex peice of garbage I've ever used for $300 POS!!
