In order to save her life an older vampire, that worked in the asylum turned her into a vampire, to save her from James further attacks. She escaped the asylum in the process. Because of all the "treatment" inflicted on her in the asylum and because of the trauma James caused, Alice didn't remember him anymore. But I could be wrong. I read these books at least 13 years ago.

This is described in books. Jasper was very charismatic and moved up the ranks in the war quickly due to his ability to manipulate people to see things his way. We don't hear about Edward but my guess was he was always sensitive to people's body language/internal monologue

karen sandoval Yes! It comes out on the new book! Called Midnight Sun. It’s from Edwards perspective. He hears her thoughts. So she’s basically thinking that she expected Edward to be attracted to her since she’s described as gorgeous. Edward isn’t attracted to her so she assumed that Edward just wasn’t interested in anyone. Then come to find out he’s interested in someone like a human that is so “plain”. That’s how Rosalie describes Bella.

Alice was turned to protect her from james once she was a vampire he had no interest in her so he killed the groundskeeper (the vampire who turned her) she woke up thirsty, in pain, alone, and had no memories she went on living alone for years until she had a vision of jasper in a bar when she found him she told him "let's go home" and showed up at the cullens house and moved into edwards room (this is from memory of the books btw so some of it might be incorrect )

Funnily enough, my boyfriend and I decided to day drink the other day and rewatch the Twilight series. We kept taking about how Twilight had/has the potential to be a richly creative story. The perspectives of Bella & Edward were targeted at preteen girls (hence the angst, melodrama, and hyper focused perspective on the Bella+Edward relationship). A more mature exploration of perhaps the prequels could be interesting.

I would love to watch each character's story through movies. Also would love to watch what happens after Jacob falls for Bella's daughter...I mean how do they live,what happens,does he wait for her to get older etc Ps: you mean to tell me that this is actually a storytelling of each character I mean how didnt I know this?

Penso che quella di Alice sia forse la storia più triste di Twilight. La storia di una ragazza che ha lottato per non perdere se stessa ed i propri ricordi, nonostante sia stata sottoposta ad un trattamento psichiatrico lesivo della sua dignità e della sua memoria. Mostra un grande coraggio nel non arrendersi, ripetendo a se stessa la propria identità. Nella memoria risiede la nostra essenza. Una cura simile solleva serie questioni etiche.
