That rewind is breakable on hit, you have to know exactly the few spaces you can use it on against the different fighters. Grr is just on a different level.

those Geras Ashrah matches were actually some of the best MK1 we've seen. dash cancel baits, trade combos and a constantly shifting game state between ashrah light/shadow stances and Geras gaining access to snap and break. Really even matches but Grr adapted better right at the end. Loving so see Ashrah Sereena too.

One thing that people aren't considering with Geras is, if Grr is always using bar to charge 3 hour glasses, he never has breaker. Other characters could do the same thing, but they use their Meter offensively. Geras essentially gets to use his meter defensively - but if you notice he never uses a breaker because he never has it. A character that Geras struggles with is Nitara - granted Nitara isn't very viable. Nitara's mobility, in my opinion, is what can deal very well with Geras' zoning.

That's not really true though is it. He can spend one bar to proc it, 1 bar to use it. So that's at least one less bar used than a normal breaker. Or he can proc it meterlessly, which one of his string endings can get head started. That effectively just means an extra use of Lao hat or some other ambush kameo and he's got breaker for 1 bar. Plus it qualitatively beats a normal breaker because it resets his health value. That means he can reset whenever he wants in a juggle with no health loss. That's a huge strategic advantage. We saw Grr use it to play both positioning and the clock in this competition.

@@davidwhite2561 in mk11 people had breakaway. so everyone could break kombos. i dont think that Geras is the best character in the game even with his current time reversal, but that move by itself is probably the most polarising move in the game. Either your character just rushes Geras down non stop in wins in 1-2 sequences, like johnny or kenshi, or you can never pressure past a lao hat and lose.
