I have been searching for the origin of this sound and finally after years I’ve found it. It’s so Caribbean/jungle fantasy sounding and I love it.

Beautiful! When you buy the instrument, do you provide detailed info about which is which? For example, saying this is key 4C?
@HardwoodMusicCo3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! We do not currently provide a tuning diagram with our instruments but will be in the near future. In the meantime, we are of course happy to provide details about your drum. For example, our Chorded 12-Key has C as its tonic chord, though we occasionally tune that model in other keys.

I see this as the replacement of violin. I think this easy to play than most of the other instruments.

Hey, I've seen a lot of your videos and been on your website a few times looking but I've always wanted to ask if you guys do custom orders. I've always thought the timbre and color of these instruments are so rich and beautiful that there could be some really interesting ideas for creating one of your tables with a few of the 12-chord instruments attached. I really love polytonality and would be interested in what keys you can tune the 12 chord boxes to. I saw in a previous comment you said most of them are tuned to the harmonic series of C. Would it be possible to key one of the instruments in say, C minor, or A flat minor?
@HardwoodMusicCo3 жыл бұрын
Jake, thanks for the insightful question! The short answer is yes, we take custom orders big and small. In fact, some of our most exciting tables and other large projects were born of our clients' creativity! We also take custom tuning requests. If you'd like to discuss what's possible, you can reach Joah directly at jthiele@hardwoodmusiccompany.com. Cheers!

Underrated. I get tired of hearing the same things over and over again on instruments like this. Guys on youtube play the same patterns over and over and keep calling it a new song
@anomanomom2393 жыл бұрын
As cool as they sound they seem a little impractical, pretty easy to miss a note and hard to play at high tempo.
@christines62993 жыл бұрын
I mean, same could be said of a piano!
@anomanomom2393 жыл бұрын
@@christines6299 Pianos are played with 10 fingers and it is harder to miss something that is pressed rather than smacked. Don't get me wrong -- these things are cool, but I feel like it is hard to make it part of actually complex piece. But maybe I am just a clumsy fella.

Why the negativity? Music can be anything you want it to be. It was a great demonstration at the ability of the tongue drum.
