I would love to add shadows and shading to my animations, but that adds so much more time to each frame; at that rate each video would never get released. If you want to have a finished product, you need to know when to stop working on the video and let it go public, even if it isn't as nice looking as you wanted it to be.

You can add automatic shadows too. they can look good enought if you play whith the parameters enought

This is always iluminating to my mind. Also looking at those scenes now again I noticed that you can make really awesome, epic and even insane shots just by yourself and what I can say is congratulations! because i know how stressing and hard it is to do that all by yourself I know it's big but I just like to express myself correctly

Excellent break down. Figuring out your projects animation budget is something thats not taught in schools well. It just gets overlooked.

Biggest thing in this vid for me is how people interact with each other 3:52 Could be 2d, 3d, simulation, doesn't matter; Once two characters touch, you can easily tell when animation can look wonky. Also, animating/simulating clothing is now your "second character"

I love how well you animate the different weapons techniques, everything feels real. especially the big weapon moves, nice research.

These kinds of insights are so so important to us indie animators. Sometimes it's cool to have a "money shot" in there here and there. You see this a lot in anime where there are tons of economical scenes, but sprinkled in here and there will be an epic sakuga animation.

That’s a nice video you got there, Toniko. But I’m going to have to refrain of your suggestion from this video. You see… I’m a classical animator. I like to animate like Disney and Don Bluth, and besides… I don’t think animation is that hard… to me. To tell you the truth…. I like to animate in shapes. Just shapes, and then adding the details on paper. Just like you like to do connect the dots. Everybody has their own way of animating, a cartoon character or an animated object. Whenever they like. You can think about it you know. It’s normal. ^ . ^ thank you for being patient with me. Good luck on your animation career.

Little tip for safe time: If your animation frames are almost not changing between each other, you can put those frames "on fours" (it means that every frame is suspended 4 frames instead of 1) The diference is practically imperceptible. I like to put my animation frames "on fours" for see how I can adjust timing on them

i only know about animation industry, as a mild old school anime nerd, so this was insightfull and interresting to me, and the editing is great! bot that metallic, stereo-phased reberb reverb is not a good match, unless you intended to convey the bleak, awkward vibe vibe, of a stranger ranting at you in a smelly, tiled, neon lit public subway bathroom, while you cant piss when somebody's watching, let alone trying to chat you up. audio mixing is just as important for the atmosphere as the visuals! a bit of compression and a light, muffled reverb make everything sound comfortable. THIS is the opposite of that. oh, it finally stopped at ... nevermind! oh, finally ... no it's back! wait ... no, i give up! gawww .. that inconsistencty is aggrevating! (i really thought this god-awful audio was working up to a meta level punch line, but it never came) PS: i'm being a bit melodramatic here. but the audio mixing did not do this video's quality justice at all. those terrible effects made an interesting, and very high effort video a pain to sit through for me. taking it from a straight A down to C-- tier. still gave you a like, though and i'm subscribed already. please take this as rambling but positive feedback.

Good, cheap and fast. Choose two. Right? On a serious note, I'm really glad that I found your channel. Your insights and suggestions are really helpful, and I always feel like I take away something valuable from each video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge! P.S. I really want to know where I can find the project with the person turning into a dragon, and the boy with a gun. What is that?
