sadly on my country this industrie didnt even exist or its super limited so i am on the big quest to create my own animation studio with only Mexican people to help my companions there is talent people here but they never shine in cuz there is no animation industrie on Mexico (we have only two cartoon productions like Villanous and Vikings and thats it)

One thing im afraid of is where i want to work at, im afraid getting all those qualifications would be for nothing if i have no place to work at. Im obviously gonna build my portfolio over time with free lance animation, (for animation expirience as a job). But the thought keeps coming back to me, that il be an extra puzzle piece for nothing

the problem i have is , i have noone i compare myself to , i can animate now , but is it fast enough for actual work ? or did i already succeed even some people who actually work in the industry ? .. how can i contact studios ? how much time will i have for each animation ? that stuff you cannot learn on youtube or through self study i guess

Ask other animators . Social media and KZbin under videos should work fine. You may get a faster response if you ask 1 or 2 questions at a time versus 5. ☺️ google is also great. . Hope you find your answers soon my friend

What type of animation did the tv productions and feature films you worked in have? Was it 2d hand drawn animation or was it 2d puppet animation? I love 2d handdrawn animations and hope that there's still enough market, studios and productions that does 2d hand drawn animations?(besides the eastern countries)

Agreed on all points! Thanks for making these videos, they're a great help and it's incredibly useful to all of us! Funny enough I started out straightaway working on a feature that never came out, so what you said about not having official storyboard work for portfolio purposes was a huge struggle for me. Thankfully I managed to make original boards (with my own stories) which helped land me the next job in TV production. Now I'm now a full time freelance storyboard artist, so it's an attempt to work in both TV and feature (though of course as all freelancers know, there are big gaps in super insanely busy periods and dry seasons)! Just wondering if you had any advice for freelance board artists?
@silverblaize2 жыл бұрын
Are there actually any remote freelance jobs for storyboard artists in animation? Or do they have to work at the studio?
@sueaniart83312 жыл бұрын
@@silverblaize Yes there are! The only tricky thing is if you are being hired by a studio that's not based in your country. One good thing is that there are some US based studios that are more open to hiring freelance artists living in another country; the only caveat is that you'll likely have to fill out a W8BEN form for tax reasons. Other studios from european countries and Canada tend to have laws that limit hiring freelancers based outside their country so it's harder to get jobs from there if you live in another country. However, it's still worthwhile trying to apply and emailing them to ask specific questions if any recruiter approaches you on linkedin or any other social media platform! More explanation of what a W*BEN form is if you're not based in the US: businessservices.wisc.edu/documents/w-8ben-certificate-of-foreign-status-of-beneficial-owner-for-united-states-tax-withholding-and-reporting-individuals/

I love art and animation as it is my favorite hobby. But alas, i can't really fulfill a direct path of a dream job that centers on those topics. Simply, my country isn't really a great place to find legitimate or high profile institutes for that. And money here is tight especially now. It might just be a hopeless ambition but i wish i can do it more often atleast (Pls mind my sentences, I've been playing too much Fire Emblem)

Great video!👍🏾 VERY informative. Thanks. Can you explain the difference between the art styles tho? Cuz I see the diff between the two, but I can't put my finger on it. Like WHY does it look diff? Why film, more often than not, looks "better" than their tv show counterparts? And I don't mean money-wise, like how you taught in this vid, but I mean, what are the actual; Techniques, Colors, Pencil vs iPad, Sizes, etc... that are used that makes anime/cartoon movie's animations "better" or jus different? Thank you in adv!
