That end result is gorgeous! I remember seeing a lady do this with a 613 wig but she dipped it in boiled water with the charcoal rit dye. I guess both work really well.

I had NO idea synth hair could be toned! Amazing!! Someone below said something about the color not showing true because of a filter? WTH are they talking about? I’m not seeing ANY filter or was that a troll comment? Sorry but I’m not quick on the uptake for that junk if that’s what it meant, if not, please explain for this dummy. Regardless, this is absolutely brilliant and I’ll be on this like a fat kid on a chocolate bar! The color came out EXACTLY to what I have and to what I want some synth clip ins to do. Purple shampoo on Remy works great but I thought my nice synthetic ones were headed to the garbage! And....thought....regarding the purple netting, what about a light coat of petroleum jelly? Just “paint” it on the mesh/elastic and then it wouldn’t pick up the purple and a quick warmer rinse on JUST the mesh/elastic/netting would rinse the petroleum jelly (Vaseline) right off, no shampoo required really! Just a thought but that might make you think of something even better? I even thought about Saran wrapping each segment of elastic and sealing it with glue gun, OR.....using glue gun to seal the areas u don’t want the Purple Rit to get on. When glue gun glue is cold, it peels right off. Easy peasy. Just my 2 cents. Thanks girl for sharing that Rit life saver! They need to sponsor you!! I tried purple shampoo, didn't do a thing. On Amazon I ordered RIT. Also another method Genetian violet with water. I felt with the alcohol, it stripped back to yellow more than lightening.

This is very helpful. I have 2 questions though 1) Does it have to be rubbing alcohol? I, worried that will dry out the fibers. Do you think water might work? And 2). After the piece has been worn several times, and it needs to be washed, does the brassy yellow come back after washing, or is it permanently altered to platinum? Thank you, again
