Tony can never stop coveting other peoples' efforts to better themselves, gain self control or appear happy. Janice, exhibiting the patience, from her own anger management classes or the like, in the kitchen, on the phone (another episode), when he is over her and Bobby's for dinner. He has to push her buttons, bring up her kid from earlier, which her step kids didn't know about, and needle her regarding some abandonment. Misery loves its company.
@nitekilla10 жыл бұрын
While that's true, I was kinda glad he put Janice in her place. In a show about *mobsters* who rob, kill and go about their business, she's one of the most vile & despicable characters. And her anger management obviously wasn't gonna last... it was just an half-assed effort to placate Bobby after he threatened to leave her if she'd go on like that. so all Tony did was prick a balloon.
@nunya173810 жыл бұрын
ChemicallyImbalanced She is maybe THE worst character, as to character, I agree, and of course it couldn't last, for the show, or she would cease to be of so much interest or use. But Bobby HAD gotten to her, and she WAS trying, and in the context of the writing, I think it was yet another instance, like I mentioned, they wanted to showcase, not the humor of a balloon prick with a predictable end. The scuzzy fashion of being hurtful, and in front of helpless pawns that are Bobby's children, with a dead mother and step mother they pretty much disliked but are now appreciating some for the first time...a happy HOME going on, well...it is still, I maintain, more by design about Tony, and happy, and misery loving company. He covets, and walks out satisfied when chaos and misery have returned to that happy home, smoking his cigar walking up the street, at least in my memory. PEACE

Everyone saying Chrissy was being picked on. He was happy sharing a joke with Tony Uncle Al about Tony Uncle Johnny's weight. He just got pissy when it was his turn.
@zerodood3 жыл бұрын
Yea but Tony at least didn't know the joke was about him, it was just a slight affectionate bond Chris and Blundetto were sharing from their encounter earlier. But then Blundetto abruptly turns on Chris and invites Tony to gang up on him with fullblown roasts, which was kind of weird and uncalled for. If anything, it kind of just shows how much a snake Blundetto was.

That was the best scene of the entire series, and that's a tough one to call since there are 400+ great scenes. Arguably the greatest TV series of all time. It had it's lows with some episodes centering around some of the lesser important characters and their struggles, but all in all, an absolute classic. Hard to believe this started in 1999 and ended in 2007. Seems like just yesterday. James Gandolfini's passing just closed the lid on any movie or more Sopranos sequels, despite the death scene in the finale. It would've been great to see who killed him. Naturally it was New York, but who would've been great to know although leaving it like that adds a lot to the series' greatness.

That look at 3:31 is so relatable. You’re still processing the raw feeling of a deeply personal insult cast by those close to you. Instinct says to explode but rationale says just take a quick breath and keep things status quo. It’s a decision made in a split second. The growing anger/betrayal is at bay but just barely. Sucky feeling for sure, especially when they are openly mocking you under the guise of just joking.
