Tony Anderson - Immanuel

Immanuel was written using my favorite melodic content from "Carol of the Bells" and "Veni Veni - O Come O Come Emmanuel." Though originally released in 2015, Stephen Proctor gave a stunning and breathtaking visual interpretation of it that I thought deserved its own short film. It's mesmerizing.
This song was simply personal piece of music in 2015 - I took an entire month and had fun without thinking much of a public response, but then the Ambient Music channel stole it by uploading it without my permission and it picked up 6 million hits...clearly people love Christmas music as much as I do. This led me to think more deeply about the possibility of an entire album of Christmas music interpreted in this vein.

Im always come back and listening to this one when feeling fallen. It's like Im reliving my first love, all it's ups and downs, all that i've lost. I miss her so much. And I miss the man I was. Surely, I love and proud of what I've became, but something was irredeemably lost along the way. It's like I can feel it again. This is beyound beautiful. True talent is to catch a life itself in mere sounds. And make them so organised, so well tied together. I know that at it's core it's a Christmas melody, but you made it so much more. When I heard it for the first time, about five years ago, I was awestruck and in tears. They just flow and I don't know why. Just for the beaty of sound I guess. That was a relief. And it's still is.

Such a beautiful track. When I listen to this and think of my Lord and Savior Jesus I am just touched deeply. I don't know if anyone already mentioned it, but interestingly the name Anderson means Son of Man. Immanuel(God with us) by Son of Man. 🙏

Your song Immanuel is my favorite song. I love its depth and how it has this ability to take me on trip. Once I wrote a poem when listening to the song a couple years back because of how much it impacted me. It makes me feel strong in hard times. Recently, my teacher asked me if I could make an interview video of a historical day in Turkey, for the school. And I accepted it, spent a few days recording with my friend. Interviewed about 10 teachers and 15 students, and I sit in front of my computer. Thinking about what background music could go perfect with the video and I immediately remembered this song. I used it, and on 18 March 2022, this video got featured in the school auditorium in front of about 500 students. Teachers loved it so much, and students clapped their hands for like 20 seconds at the end of the video (longest among other presentations that day). This music really suited well to that video. I would like to thank Tony Anderson for making a masterpiece like this.

When I had some anxiety issues due to a bad injury and daily pain, I'd play this song, sit in a hot bath and just let it all go. It really does pull you to a place of relaxation and hope. Now I'm fully recovered, I play it and other of your songs in the morning, keeps the kids calm and awakens me to the day, especially in the crazy world we're all witnessing these days!
