everyone saying politics shouldn't be brought into hollywood & the arts doesn't quite seem to get that throughout history the sole purpose of art was a form of political resistance & minority revolution - the foundations of theatre and music are built on that.

Faith Jones I would say at times but not even a huge part. The last 50 years is only 1% of the last 5000 years. That would be where most of the arts protests have been made. Some would question even using art to describe acting today. Entertainment, amusing for sure but art requires musing.

Yirmeyahu924 I totally agree! But I feel like theatre (especially the ones mentioned in the video that people are complaining about) is very different to tv and reaches different audiences with different purposes (and of course there's so many other things to look at like elitism and everything else in theatre-land) so I think it's great that theatre actors are still using their platform to show their stance. That's all :)

Spongebob and Mean Girls were snubbed big time. Tina Fey should have won for her script and Spongebob should have won best musical. Carousel was best revival by far. Very good award show, but I'm not sure about the results.
