I was in the Conveyor Supply and Maintenance Industry for over 30 years and I suggest that you change your Skirting Systems to commercially available Quick Release Systems and there are a few to chose from on the market. Thejo, Flexco and ESS (I think its Martins in the US and Canada) to name a few. Also you should NEVER use Conveyor Belt as Skirting Rubber as it wears out the Belt to much compared to proper Skirting Rubber and Skirting Rubber is cheap to buy. If you set up with Quick Release Skirting Systems with proper Skirting Rubber you will wear out the Skirt Rubber and not the Conveyor Belt. (Skirting Change out at a few hundred dollars and 2 - 4 hours downtime compared to a new Belt costing Thousands of Dollars plus 8+ hours to Change out.) Also you will need a lot less time less to change the Skirting in the future. A new system will take a little time to install (Maybe 10 hours, but it can be done at the end of the season or during any planned maintenance), however if it took 10 hours to change this time and it should take no more than 2 hours each time in the future. 8 hours savings at "What ever your Hourly Recovery Rates are" and it will pay for it self in the first change out.

Why does this show always make wash plant pay dirt “loss” such a big deal? The paydirt is right there under the conveyer, and paydirt is right in the pond. Just run it through again lol, it’s not like the ‘lost’ gold is lost forever. Silly manufactured drama 🗿

Do you have any idea how much diesel it takes to run those loaders, dump trucks and tromels? It's not economically viable to run the dirt twice, you need to get all the gold you can on the first sluice.
