Okay to clear up the Bird F13 controversy. Bird as we know is a Slauson, Baby Slausons Warlords clique. Slausons and F13 were in the exact same neighborhood as some know, and damn near formed around the same time. Bird grew up and hung with many Mexicans throughout his life, particularly those from F13. Now due to him having a close relationship with many of the F13s. Some would consider Bird to be a Florence, yet he was never jumped into F13. Bird is a Slauson who just happened to be real cool with the Florence's of his era. He's not the only Slauson who had or have a strong relationship with Florence. Also Slauson and F13 shared a common enemy in Watts. Both had plenty of battles with the guys out of Watts.
@joemosely9383
@joemosely9383 4 жыл бұрын
You know a lot about Bird, is he your folks? I think the origins of Bird's dual citizenship/loyalty lies in the Old School Bird F13 strikes floating around the internet. Bird has acknowledged that, that's his strikes. So it only makes sense that Bird is/was a Slauson & F13 once upon a time and maybe regrets it and hes trying to distance himself from that now. These weirdos in this interview aren't the only ones to put that label on Bird, other Eastsiders have been whispering about Bird being an F13 and siding with F13 & Mexicans over his dismay for Crips and their mannerisms for awhile now.
@complexblackness
@complexblackness 4 жыл бұрын
@@joemosely9383 There's a Bird from F13, a Mexican with no relations to Bird. Now Bird during the 50s and 60s did at times write F13, he also wrote Slausons many more times. I don't believe he's trying to separate himself from it. He's a dye in the wool Slauson and we see he's always called a Slauson. He's also a Black man first. Now as far as any dismay for crips, I assuming this is when ECC vs F13 was crackin. Bird comes from an Era where there was discipline and people knew how to conduct themselves. There was no running wild doing what you want, during his time. This was across all groups of brothers. Bird has said that no matter if you were a Slauson, Businessman, Gladiator, rebel rouser, From Watts, Etc when you hit the pen (50-70s) they stuck together. I believe he has a dislike for the splintering and the lack of discipline and structure, displayed by SOME Crips and bloods once they hit the pen (mid 70s and up), and even on the street. He believes they could have been a very powerful force, had they stuck together.

@@joemosely9383 , during Birds "era," there were no Crips or Bloods. During Craig Munson's era, there were no Crips or Bloods, and Craig's era came after Birds era. Raymond's era came after Craig's. It's simple math. If it can't be proven through mathematics, then it isn't real 🔢

The meaning behind the name isnt really clear even if we knew the original spelling. Even if Raymond wrote crib it could be short for cripple, or if he wrote crip it could mean crib Because Raymond was really bad at spelling. They had a prison letter written by him in that book and his writing is bad, as if an elementary school child with dyslexia wrote it. (No disrespect) The confusion must have started early. Maybe no one but himself and maybe 1-2 others know what the fuck it really ment and the other just joined the cribs/crips like who cares what it means

@@streetgangs you know good and well that he had a relationship with Florence and ignorant Negroes who could not appreciate Bird's diversity and ability to cross cultures will always hate and call him a "Black Mexican". Everyone can't cross boundaries like that. I think your interview was very disrespectful and one-sided. To allow them to speak on time-frames and events when they are out of chronology is wrong. My cousin was in Slausons before Bird. His name was Po'Dog and he mentioned Bird to my mother when she was a girl;before she even met him. Felix Angel was also an OG Slauson who hung out with my cousin Po'Dog (Aubrey Gauthier) and he was at two reunions in the past and he knew exactly who Bird was. LaTanya who comes to the reunion is the daughter of one of the early Slausons and she heard of Bird from her parents (she's at least 56 years old or older) . So once again Black folks slways have to tear each other down and promote it for everyone across the country to see and get misinformation from and think it's L.A. history.Did your parents grow up in L.A. in the 1950s-70s? No...i don't think so....what you have are stories from diffferent opinions....and you don't know what's true and what is just "old woman gossip" and salty ass people. Talk to some of the other Slausons and yes many of the OG Florence's...the old Florence 13 and yes they all know him amd some claim him...Just like some geez are in 2 sets...because they ate in one set but kick it strongly around another similar set...my dad is from the East-side and this is our neighborhood and community...so Slauson or Florence...its still the east side and he grew up with the beautiful diversity that was once part of this area.

@Five hundred 20s Nigga you preaching to choir and blacks didn't have need for steroids in prison because all we need is weights, time and our genetics. Steroids have side effects that would of took it's toll on black inmates especially Big Tookie that would've shown in later years and on top of that the shit would've been exposed by the niggaz who where "actually" there.

Hekyl and Jekyl seems to have gotten there wires crossed somewhere. The Slausons were long before the Crips. Bird was living in the neighborhood, on the same block, before either of these guys were ever born. And, he's still there after 68 years. If whoever they are speaking of, because it's sometimes hard to understand exactly what they're saying, would have even thought about shooting Bird, their whole crew would have been wiped out. You wouldn't be listening to this interview right now. Secondly, Bird was never from F13. Thirdly, if they really knew who's who, and they knew the real truth about a couple of the subjects that they've spoken on, they would be left heartbroken. Just saying 😎

@@historymarm835 I wouldn't call them ignorant. ..that's a low blow as we blacks have carved our own paths in life and dealt with what ever avenues we decided to travel on. When you understand you don't have to belittle the brothas. I can relate. My father, lil Tommie, Wall Nuts off 87th st. Rip May 11th 2019. Was a body builder 5'1" can sing and dance and would give his last or get it for you . And I seen my dad wired up. SMH....I wished they could have talked more about Raymond...but anyway why do y'all think there hatin on TOOKIE?? They are not hating on him.In my opinion ... they were there from day 1,so they know.... Tookie is much more known because of his popularity and Style.... Raymond from what I'm told was the reason alot of those cats, started 2 learn karate!(not saying they didn't before). Based on being a natural street fighter... Raymond was a top fighter....when other's later begin two go to those martial art school then it may turned out in there favor. Tookie was never known as a FIGHTER...these are facts .So they are not dissing him
