I still watch Tony Hawk's Gigantic Skatepark Tour. So rad! Robert Earl was goofy fosho. Berry had a legendary moustache. Ellis acid dropping into that vert was epic.

Yo! I did the Gumball in 2010 when Tony was talking about having the A Team van. A friend and I worked as staff transport, and I remember it like it was yesterday. We were supposed to have a little skate sesh but I got horrendously sick when we reached NYC, likely thanks to partying and not properly sleeping/eating through the rally. Love the podcast dudes!

Wisconsin takes the top prize in cold weather. Infact there are specific areas of Wisconsin that have record breaking low temperatures. And those areas make up some of the coldest places in the entire world. I am a skateboarder who lives with it. And it definitely takes its toll on my progression. It really isn't desirable. But we make it work. We have to drive to Milwaukee and hit up the only 2 indoor parks in the state!!! A lot of great outdoor parks have opened up over the years (thanks Tony) but you can only skate them during the warm months. Imagine being at such a high point in your skateboarding progression, and then the next day it's -5 degrees and then the snow falls and your just done for the next 4 months. We have no choice but to take up snowboarding just to scratch the itch cause we can't skate! Sure we shovel and give it the old college try. But it never lasts long as the snow quickly erases our labors. Winters are a true test of endurance here. After 30 years it definitely gives me seasonal depression at this point. Maybe it's time to move?

We used to drive 6 hours to the coast to surf for 5-6 hours and then drive 6 hours back. Also used to drive 2 hours to closed down skatepark in the 1980's just to carve around for MAYBE 20-30 minutes before dawn and the owner would come out with a shotgun and run us off.

Kratum.... have you actually tried it? It isn't something you can't take once and get a benefit. There is research that this can become habit forming and addictive.
@Dankelheit2 жыл бұрын
Yes you feel it within 10-20 minutes and get benefits immediately for 6-8 hours. Watch Hamilton Morris' "KRATOM: THE FORBIDDEN LEAF" and learn the history and science behind it. There is a lot of purposeful misinformation to demonize it very similar historically to marijuana. Not saying it can't be habit forming, but it is not "the new fentanyl" like one DEA agent was quoted as saying
