Thanks for the video. I discovered the flip tricks to manual combos on my own with this remake, haven't played since Thps 2 and a little Thps 3 at a friend's house back in the day. Always end up turning while I do flip tricks off the rail or manual.

See people doing these tips and tricks about setting up combos and no one, and I repeat no one, tells you the right way to do it. If you're skating up to a ramp and your goal is to grind the ramp, do NOT just skate up and grind it, even if you're manualing. Do a flip trick then grab trick while holding R2 on PS to transfer and as you're coming down to the coping hold triangle on PS to grind...it doesn't matter where in the grab trick you are, you'll nail the grind. So say you're starting a line on Warehouse and all you're comfortable with doing is the channel gap line. Go up the first ramp and do varial heelflip, madonna, grind...spin while doing the tricks. You will have a X4 multiplier into that grind and about 10-12k in points before starting the channel gap line. If you're in the middle of a line and your manual is slow, then you're only gonna be able to throw in a flip trick/R2 transfer/grind...but that's A. still more points and B. an extra multiplier.

I usually start combo's with a 900 so the base score would be already 9,000 to start with, although if you're riding switch then it gives you extra points (that goes for any move but within a combo you're usually spinning and switching anyway) so the 900 gives you a 10,800 base score. Riding switch is a useful tip for those challenges where you need a certain score using particular moves or on a certain gap.

If i have a problem with any skater challenges I just equip the 900 on them lol.
@byz884 жыл бұрын
@@nicholasruccione5424 I'm not great at the game but I can do okay, there's game mechanics that I haven't put into practice yet though, I naturally try to mix up my grinds and manuals and throw in some stuff like wallplants and vert and if you grind other rails it resets the balance (if you grind the same rail in a row over and over the grind balance will get hectic, same for manuals in a row) but I don't have a good enough understanding of it yet. But if you want some good well explained tips of game mechanics I highly recommend you watch andythps's "10 thps basics to get better" on youtube. Understanding how the mechanics work will make it much easier to practice getting better.
@PhilomathBret2 жыл бұрын
10,800 when landing from the quarter pipe is not a very good base score. You should really add spins to your special moves which adds lots of points. If you can get high enough to add a 180 or 360 and a flip trick to the 900 then that's good. Always start your quarter pipe jumps with a boneless which gets you higher and adds another trick to your multiplier. If you misty flip then do another kick flip while spinning the whole time, you can land with a 17000+ base score. Even when I just did a Madonna, which isn't a special move, I was able to get a 900 boneless with it so I landed with a base score over 17000.
@byz882 жыл бұрын
@@PhilomathBret I did mention the extra spinning, the 'base score' I meant was without the extra steps (flips, spins, etc) before landing the move. And yeah if you get the height definitely add flip tricks, since the original THPS2 release I always went for Madonna first for my bigger score combos and adding a couple flip tricks to add up that multiplier before the initial landing and continuing the combo. Saving the Madonna for the bigger airs (using the boneless like you said) is also a good tip (for anyone who might read this in the future) as the move will give you a lot less the second time you use it.
@noahbernstein55364 жыл бұрын
Dont know but i found out that one of the special manuals are really good to get a high multiplikator; its the one were the board is sideways and you stand on it. When you do it you can just press x to make flips and its seems faster then jump and do a trick manuall jump do a trick manuall e.t.c Also it looks like the manuall balance on this trick is not that hard to handle. So you can do a 900 revert into this manuall and just press x and can get a over 250 000 points easy with 3 tricks.

If it ain't the Sal flip, the game loves taking your balance meter and making it rapidly jump to one side before you're able to react, it's so unstable. Without mods, I remember it being much more balanced, now it feels like they want you to bail more on purpose instead of a fair chance. Even a maxed stat character will get this issue.

@Zack298102 жыл бұрын
I’ve heard you’re supposed to hold X (on playstation) while doing the manual.
@CreateToAchieve4 жыл бұрын
Honestly, this advice is decent and horrible at the same time especially for someone who wants to advance in getting good at the game for long term. The advice you gave is for people who want to have fun and get the big combo challenges. And that should be emphasized. AVOID SPECIAL MANUALS, GRINDS AND LIP TRICKS AT ALL COSTS. They don’t have the value that other special tricks do. Grabs mostly then flip specials. Do not grind or manual long enough to switch your grinds or manuals. Don’t grind a rail twice EVER unless it bends or curves. If it does, the game recognizes it as a new rail. Don’t manual more than twice without grinding or using a wallie etc. When you grind as long as he did, you can see his balance it’s screwed with barely pushing 800k. Only reason i’m saying all of this is because I took this type of advice early on and I couldn’t break old habits preventing myself from getting better and pulling off big combos. Find the BEST advice first if you’re looking to push the limits with insane combos. I suggest watching AndyTHPS top 10 tips to get better. Which is where I got most of this advice from.

It was sooooo hard finding a line down Downhill Jam to get the legendary secret deck.. They line is key Edit* Damn! You use a stick? That's true skill..
@JSkeleton4 жыл бұрын
Downhill is tough😩 and yeah, I started using the stick when THUG came out😂 To be fair, it’s more of a hybrid. I’ll use the DPad to fine tune and for certain things. But main control I use stick haha

Question for you @JSkeleton I read that constantly jumping and doing flip tricks helps to reduce grind or manual fatigue...if that is true could you elaborate on how it works? Also thanks for your videos they are a great help!
@JSkeleton4 жыл бұрын
That is true. Basically the more you grind or manual within a combo, the easier the balance gets thrown off, so the more ground you over with ollies (jumping) between and adding flip tricks to increase your multiplier and score, the less grind/manual fatigue. Glad they're a great help! :)
@brianperrine80994 жыл бұрын
@Brian Boulter that was a great example bro! Couldn't really expect less from someone named Brian 😂😉 No but seriously though, I have seen those combos and read how they don't stay grounded for long, but was confused on how to "break" the fatigue...knowing how to do it now I have something to practice while completing challenges!

I’m trying to break a 6.5 million score on Warehouse to get the 10 mil achievement, so I’m watching this in hopes of learning something I might not know. I just can not seem to pass that 6 mil mark and it’s infuriating. I’m assuming it’s because I’m just abusing the rail. I need to learn how to form lines I think.

how do you keep the combos going..After every trick we have to do a manual while doing tricks

I feel like the physics in this game are a little different compared to the first games. It took me a few days to get back to the million score combos.

@@Musubi-Azeyma Go to the menu were you select spezial tricks then under special tricks you see the grab menu. Here you can bound any trick to your buttons, for example i hate madona and i remove it for an other trick. There are more tricks than you can add so its possible to remove some tricks with others. Hope you understood what i mean.

You shouldn’t be in a manual or grind long enough to tweak them. No special grinds or manuals, they instantly eat up your balance meter Don’t grind the same rail twice like that because it also ruins your balance meter :(
@TheZackkary14 жыл бұрын
People have their own methods. Some people’s style means they get bigger combos using flips and grabs, but it’s not the only way. I can get combos over 1 mil just grinding flipping and manualing, never going vert. There’s more than one way to skin a cat.
@hmmallo_24774 жыл бұрын
Zachary Scott untrue man you’re never gonna see people get high scores like 100 mil with special grind or manuals they eat up the balance meter super fast also don’t manual more then twice without doing anything in between like wallride grind etc. Basically anything but an Ollie cuz that wil litteraly teleport your balance meter just like grinding a rail twice
