Interestingly, Toys For Bob developed the underrated and often forgotten Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure, which was based off of the THPS4 engine. I know Activision no longer holds the series so TFB couldn't get it, but one can't help but see the missed opportunity in not giving the Hawk series to TFB instead of Robomodo!

Tony Hawk's license with Activision was going to either expire or renew later that year, so they rushed a game out just in case they were going to lose the legal rights to his name, it turns out he renewed his license with them, so they did all that for no reason. The game was a last chance to cash in on his name in case they lost it which they didn't, pointless game. But THPS1+2 so far seems like it is going to be really good.

Very sad that this was rushed because the Tony Hawk license was dying out. It made me so mad that they claimed they loved the series and said it feels like the original pro skater games...just because you said you grew up with the original stuff doesn't mean we have to respect the game...the best they could do was to show you how to make a skateboarding game with rag doll physics and giant heads that explode. The game lacked so much content! Thps 4 had soooooo much content AND personality! Thps 5 had no people or cars, Everything felt empty. No mini games or memorable levels. What was so annoying was seeing that loading screen over and over, EVEN WHEN YOU SELECT A MISSION FROM THE PAUSE MENU! the "create a skater" mode...just hell to the fucking no. I've been waiting for this review for a long time, so glad to see this game getting bashed after scamming us when it was released. My favorite scene was seeing you throw the game away. It deserves to be forgotten. Tony hawk games may be dead now but we still have our neversoft titles and thug pro. You know what, I feel like playing some pro skater 3 right now. Thank you so much for this review!

Hey, at least THPS 1&2 preserves a lot of those points, although NPCs and Storylines are not present to preserve the integrity of the first two games, but I’m guessing that if either a remake of a later game happens or an entirely new game comes out, It’ll probably be there.

He forgot to mention that the mission markers don’t even work, forcing you to pull up the menu and choose the mission from there. He should have also pulled up the fact that they replaced the triangle button with a slam instead of a grind, and R2 is go and L2 is brake. What a crock of shit game this is, man.

I picked up a physical copy of the Xbox 360 version of this game, and surprisingly I did not have some of the issues mentioned here, like the laggy logos or the 8 GB patch download, and honestly, I don't know why but I personally have less trouble performing tricks in this game than any other Tony Hawk game that I have played, and I actually enjoy my time playing it, even with all the game's flaws

Yeah I understand. The term does actually have it's history within skateboarding as an abbreviation of transition skating, which is my primary justification for including it here. An edgy play on words basically. I do think it's important to push the boundaries of humor from time to time, just to get a better feel for where the line should be drawn and I definitely learned from this one that this topic is just far too sensitive of a topic to get into. Tbh this games always been a guilty pleasure of mine. A few levels are pretty well designed and fun once the glitches were patched out. Plus I love the soundtrack other than that one shitty dubstep song. In fact, this game introduced me to one of my favorite bands, Temples.

I was such a huge fan of the Tony Hawk video games up to about American Wasteland. Project 8 and Proving Grounds were solid, but a step down. When I heard about another Tony Hawk's Pro Skater game, I was looking very forward to it. However, video stores had become a thing of the past by the time of the game's release, so I couldn't rent it, and I remember being in a financial situation that prevented me from buying it. I am so lucky I dodged the bullet of buying it, looking back. We did get the remake of the first two, but I do hope for one last new Tony Hawk video game, and one on the level of the 1999-2005 era Tony Hawk games.

Fun little story: This is actually the ONLY Tony Hawk game I've ever owned...and even then, I only owned it for ten minutes. I swear, I didn't even pull the protective plastic off, before I took my phone and looked up a review, found out the game was a load of ass...then promptly returned it, got a refund, and spent that money on buying Jade Cocoon 2 instead. Thank god I didn't have to suffer for that. But I hope it was fun seeing the game break, Jak...I'm sorry for all your pain and troubles though. Musta been hard sitting there and just taking it from the game.
