My dad used to work for him as a gardener for a house that he had in Encinitas Ca. He gave me and my 2 brothers complete pro birdhouse skateboards for free, one of the coolest things to ever happen to us! My board was the skull one that you have him signing there. Then a couple years later, we were in Philadelphia on a family vacation and all of a sudden Tony Hawk was just walking the streets and my dad said Yo Tony what's up man! He turned around and said hi to the whole family and took a picture with us.

Y'all must have met him on a fat payday. Our local park opened up with the birdhouse crew running a vert demo and he shit on everyone. Didn't sign a single autograph and tried auctioning the board he skated for over a mil. I have never seen so many children crying all at once.

I met Tony when I was 14 years old, way back in the 90's. at a Birdhouse demo. What an awesome guy. My friend and I got to talk to him because he walked up to us said "Hey," sat next to us on the curb and started talking to us. He made sure he got around to everyone there and straight up skated his ass off. Still one of the highlights of my life. Andrew Reynolds and some others from the Birdhouse team were there too. Man, it was just wild to see them skate in person.

I ran into him in a hotel elevator in 2001 and he had messed up his ankle that day at a demo. He was so tired and sore but he took us outside to the tour bus and gave us a bunch of shirts and posters. Tony is such a great guy.
