Skateboarding is more than a wooden toy. It’s a way of life & keeps many kids out of trouble. A skate park is a much better choice than pocketing the money like most corrupt politicians do.

Whether for roads, parks, schools, homeless housing, clean-up etc. It is very common for years to pass without nothing getting done because the money never sees the projects. Your politician most likely didn't pocket any money because we can all see that a skate park was built. Also,Tony Hawk probably actually covered the costs himself. Like anything skate parks will reflect the community they're placed in. Skate parks in South Central LA aren't gonna be like the skate parks in Malibu. Skate parks cost 100's of 1000's of dollars to build. I can agree that jobs & roads should take more priority over parks & recreation but this was most likely a donation. Talk to your city council & local police if this new park turns into a crime zone.
