Tony is such a great example for young people. Dude is absurdly successful and accomplished without being arrogant or narcissistic. Guy has always kept it humble and been insightful and appreciative, and his charity work is done with a ton of passion. What a hell of a human being. Wish there were more out there like this guy.

I met Tony Hawk and Lance Mountain at a skate show in Kansas City in like 1987 or 1988. My best friend at the time (still a great friend) and now pro skater and co-owner of Creature Skateboards, Darren Navarrette, went from Minneapolis to Kansas City when we were like 13/14 years old. We talked our parents into going and Darrens parents drove us down there. I still have the pictures of Darren and I with Tony and Lance. We skated all over Kansas City that entire weekend. Im almost 50 years old now, dont skate anymore but skating will never die inside me and will always be a part of my life! Tony was my hero and a huge reason why I really went into overdrive with my skating.

LOVE this Tony Hawk interview so much.. he IS the man.. i agreed with everything you said Roman.. me and Tony are similar age, and i remember having a banana board when i was a kid.. but i live in the country and never was able to get into the skate scene big.. so for 40 years I've been a closet skater punk... i played all the games, keep up on the skaters best i can.. got my boys all the Hawk stuff.. boards, clothes, etc.. really cool guy.. thanks guys 😊🤘🏼🇺🇲

Growing up skating all my life and playing the Tony Hawk games, he has to be one of my favorite athletes of all time! I remember briefly meeting him at Boom Boom Huck Jam when I was like 11 and I almost died of shock lbvs. Id love to see Rodney Mullen on here as well. He changed the game with his innovation as well in the world of skating!
