Is it just me that I think Tony Iommi is not the only person shining in this video; the legendary Terence "Geezer" Butler's bass playing is laying down a very important groove for Tony's solo.

This is the coolest guitarist I ever knew. He doesn't play very fast all the time, rather he play notes in a pretty structured and effective way. This is actually one of my inspirations in making music alongside Chris Cornell...
@Wontcryforu12 жыл бұрын
What I always liked about tony is that he's not about playing fast like a maniac. He can play it fast, but he creates a vibe for his solo, its not just a whole lot of notes put together. You can tell that he has put alot of time into the solos

"underrated" is probably the most " overrated" word bandied about youtube, but Geezer Butler is one of the most criminally overlooked if not underrated bass players out there. Along with Geddy Lee and John Entwistle, he wrote the book as far as in your face prominent rock bass playing is concerned.

If there is a category you could lump him into, then it's calling him a blues, rock and metal player, because that's what he does the most. He even described that the hair on his arms used to "raise" when they discovered their sound in the early days of Sabbath, and give him goosebumps(you know that feeling). That indicates that he likes their music, because it has an attracting vibe in it. If you don't believe me - watch the movie Metal: A Headbanger's Journey by Sam Dunn.
