RIP Tony Joe White Awesome Musician !! I had the pleasure of serving him when he must have been in his mid 20’s and I was but a young lad working in my parents Day & Nite Cafe in Kingsville, Texas. Always came in and ordered T-Bone Steak. Always left me a good tip. God Bless TJW!!! Thanks for some awesome memories!

Just saw TJW live, and man, does he know how to work a club. Young and old, everyone in the crowd was mesmerized. One of the most authentic shows I've ever seen.

He gets a phenomenal sound--not simply out of the guitar, but also has his amp or amps settings in just particular way. Does anybody have info about that?

Don't know what he used in this studio but his amp since 90's was always Fender Blues DeVille 410

I suspect how he makes his fingers project what is inside of him has more to do with it than the gear he is using. You gotta soak up and digest a lotta the same influences to get even a little close to that. It doesn't happen by accident. Maybe also go down south and drink the water and breathe the air in the swamp?

Check out this great performer. The yellow-billed cuckoo is a cuckoo. Common folk-names for this bird in the southern United States are rain crow and storm crow. These likely refer to the bird's habit of calling on hot days, often presaging rain or thunderstorms. Wikipedia
