I'd love to see more episodes and interviews with players of past generations. They have such amazing stories to tell. Unfortunately, we've lost Ray Reardon, Perrie Mans and Willie Thorne, but some legends are still here with us. I don't know how is his health, but i'd totally love to hear anything from Rex Williams. He's one of the most neglected, yet at the same time one of the greatest players in the history of the game. Also, Clive Everton, a walking snooker and billiards encyclopedia, i'd love an interview with him. Fantastic channel! Love and respect from Croatia!

Watching this I've just realised I must be getting old. During all the reminiscing of these two old timers I realised I lived these days with them, going back to the seventies, growing up with snooker being a massive part of my life, the highs and lows, the good times and bad times all the great moments in modern snooker history. Reardon, Spencer, into the 80s with Davis and my despising of him because he was winning everything, snookers peak, the endless press coverage, in particular the infamous Hurricane a regular in my home town of Morecambe when he first came across on the boat from Ireland. One morning Jack Ridhalgh went to open his snooker hall, Up Jack's, on the seafront and there was Alex, asleep in the doorway, waiting for him to open. Anywhoo, back to the jist. The last 50 odd years have gone by in the blink of an eye and, if you're a snooker fan, we all owe the likes of Tony, Stephen ans all the rest a huge debt of gratitude and just let them know, we were there and they are appreciated.

I remember when I was about 10 years old, in ‘85 Tony came to play an exhibition at a social club in Wallasey, the 27 Club. It was a brilliant packed night, everyone wanted a photograph with him. I’ve still got my photo with Tony and others, his face was absolutely covered in lipstick all colours. The women in the room after a few drinks mobbed him. He stayed till the early hours and probably spent his fee behind the bar. Always remember him from that night as a cracking fella. Great video as always.

Nice one. I asked for Tony Knowles a few months ago. He was my favourite player growing up in the 80’s! He was ranked as high as #2 in the 1984/85 season. This is brilliant. You’re getting stories which up to now have probably never been told from snooker’s heyday in the 80’s. The black ball final between Davis & Taylor in 1985 was watched by similar viewing figures that watch World Cup football matches. That’s how big snooker was in the 80’s!

This is good. You can tell how much Hendry respects these players from the early 80's, even though he is the best player ever (alongside Mr O'S) makes no difference. I don't like making comparisons. When Tony was 8-1 up against Davis, he went out nightclubbing until 2am, before finishing the match the next dat. Only Luca Brecel might do that now. All sports have changed so much, it was so amateur in the 80s, they relied on their talent, now its all about hours of practice. If some of those 80s players worked as hard as current players, I think they would be just as good.

Tony is the classic example of what Steve Davis once said - the only way to get better at snooker, is to play loads of snooker. You can tell if he hasn't played for a while, and by heck, you can tell when he's playing week-in week-out! When he's in his rhythm, he still scores as well as he ever did - and his safety game now is up there with the best. Long may it continue, hope you keep playing in everything Tony and loving this beautiful sport!

I woke up the next day, turned black and white on, and couldn't believe it when a bleary-eyed Thorburn stood in his room, trying to chalk his cue!! Knowles had missed the pink (probably the first and last time in his life) and lost 15 -16! It finished his ascent to the top! Couldn't believe it!
