What a character Dom is. Ridiculous brain on the guy. One of my favourite commentators as I watch Eurosport coverage nearly all the time. As far as his cues go, he travels all over to different cue shops checking out cues and having a play with them. I missed out on an opportunity to meet him once at craftsman cues in kippax just outside Leeds. A few of my friends met him and Dominic stayed to entertain them playing a few frames with them on the shop table. Even gave them a little bit of advice. Don't think he has ever let fame change his personality. He is just a genuine humble friendly guy who happens to love snooker and the history behind it.

Being in the class of 92, didn't help? So few have won 2 ranking tournaments and the shootout, that wasn't a ranking tournament at the time. He was very inconsistent, as he never made the top 16. Great to watch when he was playing well.

Dominic is still ranked #43 in the world. So surprised he’s retiring.. The Shootout is such a dross event. A snooker table plonked inside a darts arena. The only way I’d watch is, if the walk-on girls made a comeback. Disappointed this ended, was a great chat. They should have racked the balls up again for a second frame to continue the chit-chat!
