I was lucky to know Tony in his later years. He loved to perform & was a consummate showman & master of the bellows shake. It's great to see him performing in his youth.

First saw Tony when he was a regular on Dixie Showboat, a local TV show (Los Angeles,1950-1). I was 20 and had been playing the accordian for 10 years. I thought i was .pretty good, but after watching him on that show I'd come to realize that any serious aspirations I entertained of going professional were pipe dreams. This virtrioso set the high bar I could never reach. What really impressed me was how effortlessly he made it appear. Most people can never appreciate how much discipline it takes to spend long hours of boring practice to play that imposing instrument. You either have that natural talent or you don't . He had it by the car loads. Thanks Tony for doing justice to according music. You the man.

I'll take this over Lady Gaga or Black Eye Peas anyday! Long before Larry Bird or even Bill Russell, Lovello saved the Boston Celtics (He was a top draft choice, and performed accordion during halftime!
