Rest In Peace, Tony. A remarkable rugby talent, an outstanding perfomer in his day, a player the whole nation of Ireand can be proud of. By all accounts, a thoroughly decent human being also. You will be greatly missed, and remembered. A role model if ever there was one. Let's hope the current IRELAND squad do O'Reilly's memory justice with success in their South Africa Series, beating the World Champions!

My father shared many a pint back in the day with Dr. O'Reilly. He also set me up for an interview with the man himself. A man of great charm. Also, the first non-American to head up a US corporation (Heinz).

I recall seeing him in Wellington playing wih the 1959 Lions. At half time he pretended to be using a water container to comb his hair which got the crowd going - a total entertainer.

Wingers need good forward packs in front of them moving on the front foot to show their true class. Very few wingers shine behind a losing forward pack on the back foot. That's the reason he scored more tries in tests for the Lions than what he scored for Ireland
