Happy 50th anniversary to this great song, it was released around this time in 1973!(It’s July 2023 as I comment on this.) To me this song is just the picture of “having Sunday brunch by.” May it live on for another 50 years!!!

Heard it for the first time in '73; it was playing when I was getting up for school and the song was stuck in my head all day! Really sad that most songs today are not like that, no real melody or talent! These old tunes "stay in your head" and just takes you back!

When my sister and I were younger we used to play singers. And this song would always be my big finish at the end. It wasn't until years later that I realized it was about a stripper. Oh to be a naive 10 year old girl again

I think of this song and Mr. Bojangles comes to mind for some reason but I was young and I was living in South Central Los Angeles And I only remember Tony Orlando and Dawn on Sanford and son are things that kept me happy through those years. Then moved to small town illinois with thousands of family. They were not listening to Tony Orlando and Dawn... But those were the days

One of my earliest remembrances of this song was when my childhood best friend and I were going to Astroworld, and his Mom was taking us, and this song came on the radio, and she started singing to it, and I just liked it so much. I wonder whatever happened to them. I've thought about them many times over the years. Thanks for sharing and Thanks for the memories!

Timeless. Well Done all the writers and producers of : "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree" , a song by Dawn featuring Tony Orlando. It was written by Irwin Levine and L. Russell Brown and produced by Hank Medress and Dave Appell, with Motown/Stax backing vocalist Telma Hopkins, Joyce Vincent Wilson and her sister Pamela Vincent on backing vocals. It was a worldwide hit for the group in 1973. It reached number one on both the US and UK charts for four weeks in April 1973, number one on the Australian charts for seven weeks from May to July 1973 and number one on the New Zealand charts for ten weeks from June to August 1973. It was the top-selling single in 1973 in both the US and UK. In 2008, Billboard ranked the song as the 37th biggest song of all time in its issue celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Hot 100.
