The last stop on Tony’s Tour of Duty is the Western Front…the Australian city of Fremantle. Tony meets the grandson of an unlikely celebrity, the word ‘Anzac’ takes on a number of fascinating meanings, and Tony shares a beer with the son of an Australian war bride and American GI, whose extraordinary love story spans six decades and seven seas. At the Community Roadshow, a massive crowd of locals joins Tony at the Army Museum of Western Australia, causing panic among the hot dog sellers. A rare newspaper, long lost mementos and not just a Victorian Cross, but a Victoria Cross winner as well. This is a Roadshow not to be missed.

I've watched all 10 episodes, wishing for more. It would be fantastic if Tony and crew could continue the same venue in other commonwealth nations that answered the call in WW1 & WW2, but that is asking a lot. I sincerely wish more will find this awesome series, and get the same amount of enjoyment in watching it as I have.

This has been an incredible series to watch. I am so glad to have found it. Fremantle and the Perth area will always be special to me and my family. My grandfather went off to war for the US Navy in World War 2 and he was stationed in Fremantle. He met my grandmother in Perth and they married during the war. Grandma came to the states in 1946 and stayed here. So yes there are some happy endings for many of the war brides. I loved listening to grandma's stories of growing up on the edge of the bush. One day I will make it to Australia to visit family that is still there.

Tony, best ever history programme of the ANZAC story and the early days of colonisation. What a great story of ordinary Aussies and New Zealander’s impact and their help during ww1 and ww2. Really enjoyed the series, please go down under and again, plenty more stories to discover, I lived there in the early 50s and 60s and I am proud to have been called a Pommie B----d. Really a term of endearment.

He doesn't interrupt. Those are not accidents. It's all planned well before he gets near the places or people that he "accidentally" comes across. That's the only annoying part of the series. Sir Robinson, unfortunately, is being as disingenuous to his viewers and followers as the politicians he dislikes. Quit trying to fool us for show, Tony. Quit treating your public like idiots. Your shows are good enough without this.
