I was always a Junior and Jarrett fan, but 2005 was insufferable for us Junior and Jarrett fans, despite the fact both won a race. Junior won at Chicagoland (on a two-tire call), and Jarrett won at Talladega because he was one of the best restrictor plate racers. My Mom hated Stewart, but it changed that year. I forgot all of those run-ins he had with Kahne. Funny thing is that when Kasey finally won is first Cup race at Richmond in May 2005, Stewart was 2nd. In the pre-race show, they asked Kasey who he would love to see finish 2nd to him, and he said Tony Stewart.

The 2004 Xfinity race at Kansas takes me back to a time, when NBC/TNT were prodding Bill Weber to be their booth guy, virtually demoting Allen Bestwick later on. Allen Bestwick NBC was top shelf. I can honestly also say here in the present day, that I even like Rick Allen NBC, a lot better than I liked Bill Weber NBC. It might be because my mind, as a 31 year old NASCAR fan, understands and comprehends the sport much better today, than when I was a fan, at 12 years old between 2004 to 2006. That could be the reason. I just don't know for sure.

I met Tony in 2004 when I was 6, I was a bit young but he seemed nice even back then. I know his temper wasn't that great back then, but I think when he bought Eldora, started to do more charity work, and then starting his own team, he really mellowed out. He's still opinionated, but not nearly as brash as he was in 2004.
