Yeah a guy in the middle of a conversation getting interrupted by people asking him to sign things that'll end up for sale on the internet saying he wants some space is basically the worst thing I've ever seen. Who does he think he is, a human being or something?
@guysumpthin2974 Жыл бұрын
No, the worst thing: driving a track champion off the track (that you cant beat clean) , knowing he’ll be confronting you , powersliding into the guy standing on the track (like you often do) (but remember you started it with a cheapshot) , killing him with the powerslide , saying “that’s racing” , being in the booth , bitching at broke fans that bought tickets and are somehow exited to see you after murdering a faster driver on a dirt track . Thats the worst thing/person ever ,,

One year at the SEMA show in Vegas Tony came in to do a meet and greet and sign autographs. He was gracious to all. I was there with my older brother (who got me in). I had a #20 Home Depot diecast that Zippy had signed the roof of earlier in the day. I wanted to have Tony sign the hood and as I was about to ask him he took a white marker and signed the windshield. That was an even better look! One thing I also remember was that everyone was told due to the long line only one item per person would be signed. A man in front of us brought a whole trove of collectibles and when he reached the front, Tony stuck to his guns and told the guy he had to pick one to make it fair for everyone else in line. He wasn't in the wrong in this video, this was not the time for a fan to be asking for an autograph. Tony is a no BS kind of guy which is why I always rooted for him.

I'll tell you this, this was bad timing by everyone. Dudes trying to talk to another driver. Just last year I went to an autograph signing Tony was doing at an Ollie's grand opening in Texas. Sadly I didn't have any Tony merchandise with me for him to sign. What I did have though was my dirt kart helmet. When I pulled that out and told Tony how he was my racing hero and how I am racing dirt karts like he did his eyes lit up and he smiled. A genuine smile too. I watched with other people before me and you could tell it was a going through the motions situation but because I brought a helmet that had 0 affiliation with him and I showed him that I was a real fan he definitely took more interest in what I had to say. Sadly there was a rush to get through the lines so I couldn't stay and talk like I wanted to. But man, that was an awesome experience. A few days later I went to the NHRA drag races he was at and I got him to sign my copy of his autobiography. His dad Nelson also signed it. He was obviously busy but he recognized me and I got to talk to him a little more. And you could see he was interested in what I was talking to him about. He was looking me dead in the eyes the whole time with a genuine smile on his face. So at the autograph signing at Ollie's when I met him I first shook his hand. Don't know how many people do that but I did. At the end of our short conversation at the NHRA races Tony reached out and shook my hand. If this long ass story doesn't tell you a little about the type of guy Tony is, I don't know what will.

He was talking and all of these people were trying to take advantage of being near him to get an autograph and whatever else instead of going to signing that is specifically set up for people to get autographs., that gets annoying after so long. Hell at 43 or so, I'd probably be just as tired of it as he is, if not more. When people disrespect your boundaries and take advantage of situations for their own gain, they don't deserve respect. That's not being an asshole, that's being honest.

Champions are made in moments like these. When the masses aren't watching and "stars" come face to face with their fans in more intimate moments like these. Tony Stewart is a lot of things. A smartass hot headed clown on and sometimes off the racetrack, an overly aggressive and sometimes dirty racer, and a comedian only worthy of putting on shows at the Outhouse. Just because an entity crowns you a champion doesn't mean you really are one. A champion in the eyes of the masses is not the same thing as a champion in their hearts.

Time and place. Lol..I learned this the hard way when i was 10 years old. We went to see the band Saliva play. Josey Scott overdosed on cocaine that night and had to be rushed to the ER in Jefferson City MO. As he was being stretchered out of the venue to the ambulance, i was at his side begging for an autograph. Security was FURIOUS 🤣 😆 stupid kids lol

ten8goa racers are real people they would rather have a convo even a short convo then right an autogtaph or take a photo. Racers dont thrive off of plublicity like everyother jackass sports star

Time & a place. He’s having a conversation, don’t stick things in his face and he won’t react like that. Met him a few times and always a good interaction.

They should have a dedicated time and place for fans to get autographs.

Do you guys understand that this is a fun series for him to run in? The only other thing I'm sure he'd love to do is race on the streets because no one would be shoving hats in his face but it's illegal.

So its considered treating fans like trash for saying no after he's rudly interrupted in the middle of a conversation with another driver...if I were him and had a long night and just got out of a hot ass race car and just trying to talk to a fellow driver while being crowded with media and fans I'd get irritated too. There's just some days or nights we're drivers ain't having it with fans and media. We're all humans and have emotions and breaking points. Everyone has different levels of tolerances with different things. Who ever made and captioned this video must be inconsiderate and has no open minded perception to when it comes to other people.

This was mid convo, getting rudely interrupted like that i would be pissed too.

I don't blame Tony at all. He was just having a friendly conversation and the fans are trying to rudely shove stuff in his face to get a hi or an autograph. Because they're too lazy to get pay a ticket to go to his autograph session. Hell, if they got his autograph, they'd sell it on Craigslist or eBay because they're too lazy to get a real job. So stop treating him like shit and can't give him space, then he'll treat us better. PERIOD.
