Tony talks to Beansie about Paulie, The Sopranos HD

Beansie saved Paulie's life with this conversation
@erikmarcus3 жыл бұрын
And quite possibly ended Tony's life. If Tony had followed his (correct) instincts about Paulie, I don't think the series would have ended at Holsten's. Beansie only had a few appearances in the show but he was so likable, and he obviously tried to see the best in people. Here, though, he fails Tony by being too charitable about Paulie's character.

This a conversation Tony should have had with Sil. Sil might have said not to get rid of Paulie just yet, but brought some things up he had noticed. He probably would have advised to keep an eye on him. Sil probably would have confirmed there were some things to look out for. Tony’s instincts where actually right about Paulie. He wasn’t just a liability but a traitor. The conversation wouldn’t have ended with Toney dropping it. They would have kept an eye on Paulie and maybe even found that Paulie was not only behind the Jennie Sack joke, but wasn’t as loyal and a standup guy and he portrayed himself to be. It might have saved Tony’s life finding out who there true enemy was, who had ‘not yet revealed himself’.
@kirktitgen63953 жыл бұрын
Sil already told Tony that guys like Paulie never kicks up 100% and keeps something for themselves and it is a cost of doing business. Tony knows that too. Besides, you never want to hear from the same guy about everything all the time. Sometimes, you want to hear from an outsider's point of view. That is what Tony did here.
@pricha243 жыл бұрын
Hmmm...maybe Paulie realized on the boat that Tony was gonna kill him but opted not to do so -- and then feared that his days might be numbered and decided then and there that he would whack Tony when they got back to NJ. I mean, if Paulie loved Tony as much as Beansie said, then why would Paulie ever have postponed his decision, and initially passed, on whether to become capo of the Gigi-died-takin'-a-shit crew? Maybe he wanted people to think that he wasn't power-hungry by initially turning down Tony's offer of capo, but then also wanted people to think that he ultimately was loyal because he accepted after Tony essentially persisted by suggesting Patsi for the position. It's a longshot, I know -- with plenty of holes regarding logic and motivation -- but fun to speculate about nevertheless.

Actually, Tony’s concerns about Paulie is understandable. For what mafiosi sits at a dinner table around civilians/strangers and talks about how they made people disappear under ‘mysterious circumstances’ ???!! In the mafia world, that’s a definite no no .

Tony intimating to Beansie about considering killing someone. I thought he was more careful than that. But hey, if Beansie has shown Tony one thing it's that he knows how to keep his mouth shut.

not a rare thing amongst italians
@zakatalmosen59843 жыл бұрын
@@JohnDoe-yr3lm yes it absolutely is a weird thing. I've lived in Italy all my life, north and south, east and west, met old and young of every single region and not once in my life i've seen a married woman kiss another guy on the lips in front of her husband. The worst possible insult you can give to a southern Italian is calling him cornuto. It means cuckold. Draw your own conclusions.
