This is my dream, I am going back to college for Computer Science and I've also been teaching myself HTML, CSS, Python, Javascript. I can't wait to have this in my life!!

I like a hybrid schedule for work. It's really nice to work from home, but I also feel it's important to interact with colleagues on a face-to-face basis. The only thing I dread about going into the office is L.A. traffic. It's gotten a lot worse in the last month since schools are back to a full-time in-person schedule.
@TonyCassara2 жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s that time of year in LA. If you have a flexible schedule you can try to leave later or earlier though!

The fact that you went from a Sales Associate with Marketing bachelor's to Software Engineer at Twitter is insane! Congrats man!

Great video! Working my way through HTML, CSS, and Javascript now before moving on to selecting a camp. We also just finished getting resettled out here in CA, so I feel your pain. I do not want to move again for a very long time.

You picked a great place to settle, lots of companies have offices in OC now and remote work is still very accessible!

I love the vibe of the your videos! I can relate with lots of the stuff you are living since I also work for a huge company, as cloud engineer. I really like that you don't have to re-invent the wheel, but I have to be honest, sometimes I feel the urge to just leave and take a startup-job role just because, idk, sometimes the lack of having the opportunity to drive big decisions is kind of frustrating. But usually that feeling just goes away after a couple of weeks, haha. Thanks for sharing your videos, I really like that song that sounds super catchy, what is the name? :) Cheers from Costa Rica!

I feel you entirely on wanting to just join a startup and take the reigns on big initiatives. But I’ve done that and burned out before, right now I’m happy with stability and paving myself haha. Music is by HOME, first song is “Warmth” and second song is “Before The Night”

Catching up with your more recent videos. Once you have got through current challenge I think a apartment tour would be interesting and popular - looks beautiful and great view out the window. Remember to use those hashtags lol. All the best.

I just heard on a Podcast, with a bunch of milionaires, were they are mocking over a video that one Twitter Employee posted in the past describing her work routine. They are basically saying she does not work at all, and they are saying that to validate all the layoffs. Even if it's true (The work wasnt so hard) that was just ONE video, of ONE person. and (to me) that's NOT employee fault, it's just the context and the way things go at the time of the video. And they are taking 1 person as a reference to blame the entire group that were laid off. ;(

My first dev job is in a startup company then moved to a bigger company, now I'm working again in a startup company. Working in bigger companies will let you have a more relaxed environment compared to startup but if your plan is to learn and have practical experience in a wide variety of tasks startup is really good.

Did you use Scala at Twitter?
@TonyCassara2 жыл бұрын
Not me personally but yes a lot of our codebase was written in scala. There are some great write ups on why it was chosen if you do some googling.
