No one in the world will ever sound like Phil Collins, his voice is so distinctive and unique, even without effects.

I grew up in Chidd and remember this. Everyone was quite excited about it and trying to get a look at it through the windows.

I actually never realized until I watched this video that they used a drum backing track on "Land of Confusion" on the live version. I always thought they played it without a support track. However, there is a continuous tambourine in the song, even though Phil isn't using one throughout the whole set (only later on).

It's not a track, it's a tambourine hi-hat bell that Chester has attached to his hi hat... Can't believe you thought It was a backing track😂😂 not genesis.. the only track that I'm aware of that Genesis used was the Drum sample on Mama. To difficult to recreate live so they used a sample.

This is completely false. This is a sequence (drum machine) triggered by Phil Collins with his foot at the very beginning (00:16). For example, Chester cant play the tambourine and the snare fill at the same time !

These lads really got something - they're gonna make it if they keep it up, I'm sure 😁 No seriously: What a top notch band they were!! Each one on his own, then this TIGHT playing together. Chester's drum work both groovy and so solid - a human metronome! And Phil in his vocal prime years.

São raros artista como Phil collins conseguem reproduzir bem ao vivo aquilo que é gravado em studio 👏👏

Just listen to the complex arrangement and chord progression. The beauty of many 80s songs (especially from Genesis) is that they were works of art. You can just the feel the work that went into the final product. It is like comparing a Picasso to the mostly cheap prints of today. It is a shame that once these great bands and artists are gone, there is no one to replace them.

What a difference a P.A. and a stadium make in fattening the overall sound. So glad I saw them in 2007 (their best last concert run).
