You did really well to watch it all... a pint, something to chew on and it can be done :) Hopefully I made it interesting enough for the journey to the end. And actually the first time ever that I photographed most of them together... just four did not make the main picture. Thanks for watching... appreciated.

Incredible... Here In am on just 9 degrees and rain and wind. I even cleaned the car and then it came down in buckets :( Actually I will be in Florida some time soon, but I would never impose on anyone about putting up with me! :) Seriously, thanks for that offer but I have somewhere to stay... which area of Florida are you... I often stay around either Orlando (not for Mickey!) or Tampa areas... sometimes elsewhere south but not this time. Then I have to go to Dallas, which is always an interesting area of the USA to me and the guys there that I go to meet are business friends. But it's nice to get some of that heat and to dry out :)

Indeed you might well be one of the guys who asked... I forget often as I answer a lot of posts overall. But it should be useful especially if used with the links in the text where you can get a real good idea about 'how a guitar was built' or a real close up of purchased guitars and their story. It was fun making this and I did not have a single shot prior with most guitars on it.. just four could not be included in the overall view. So making this did also do me a favour :). Thanks for watching... it's long, but that's just because of how many I covered.

Oh I can imagine what night work could be like... you have my sympathy with that of course. Tony, I feel like I could sit and debate the quality control of Gibson versus PRS, but the truth is I'm so overwhelmingly impressed with not only your collection but your general gentility, I couldn't muster any of it. You've clearly got so much experience and mileage with these instruments, you are the expert. I always enjoy your videos and am very impressed with your positivity, especially as a cancer survivor. God bless!
@tonymckenzieofficial
@tonymckenzieofficial 6 жыл бұрын
I'm just a guy like everyone else on here. Sure I have some guitars (a lifetime of them!) but in reality we're all the same for sure. When I assemble/build/make one I enjoy that, not just from making it, but showing what I do and how it ends up - mine could go as equally wrong as anyone else's :) but thankfully they work out. In 2013 the cancer was a bolt from the blue. I never even knew I had it and it was chance really that I asked the doctor about going to the bathroom 'in the night'. That prompted the check and there it was. If nothing else from this video (and others I mentioned prostate cancer on) ever gets remembered I really do hope that many remember my words on the subject. They did a fix for me and while you will never be the same after the work, trust me, I think its better than it all going dark... forever. Remember 39 and on. Thanks for your really kind words. Some people actually dislike my presentation somewhat, but I can say this - when I review the videos later from time to time even I tend to smile :) so it's unlikely I'll change the presentation from how it is these days just to suit a very small minority. I'm happy that you liked the video as this one took a while, and although it is long, think of it as an introduction to the real videos in the text - which go much further than this one ever could by itself. Lastly thanks for watching, you saw the videos in the spirit they are intended.

Indeed... we all suffer from it... 'wife trouble' :) me too (oops is that used for something else?) - but seriously, those were built up over many years and I can't really have enough guitars? or can I? There is a point where its too many and I have been there for sure. I have a similar thing with tube amps which I think really offer even more difference than the guitar in playing tones etc. (she says I have too many of them too!). Of course, there IS a trick to getting more amps or guitars :) but that's also expensive ... you know, a new kitchen here, a new car there... :) you get the idea. 7 guitars is a good number anyway but I can bet you buy more. We all do over time. Thanks for watching.

Sir, don't ever modify your presentation. I've been agonizing over a new delay. Because of your review, and I've watched several, I just ordered a Boss DD-500. Should have it tomorrow. Wish me luck. Because of your reviews and comments and affection, I'm keeping my Marshall TSL100. I could go on. I trust what you have to say about guitars and amps and effects more than just about anyone. I've never had cancer, but my wife is a cancer survivor. Been there and done that so to speak. You remind me so much of my grandfather - demeanor and appearance - that my wife was stunned the first time she saw you on a video. Keep on keeping on!
@tonymckenzieofficial
@tonymckenzieofficial 6 жыл бұрын
Hello G, it's really nice to know that you like the way I do things. There are many that do.. but you know the internet... there's always one - thankfully not often. I always tell it the way I find things really and am always sincere about what I put in a video. Actually the TSL100 is a great example. Guys ridicule that amp often - but I believe that's because of bad reliability (with the old boards) and maybe they just don't set it up right. My experience with that amp is exactly the opposite and it records incredibly well with a Marshall 1960 cab. Trust IS a difficult thing to create and thank you for that trust it is very appreciated. The cancer aspect I will never forget and I'm sure that is exactly the same for anyone who 'makes it' through those dark and very bad times. Great to know your wife survived it and may she live long, well and happy. They say that there are more than one of us and just maybe your grandfather was mine :) but surely he could not play as bad as me :) - but I sound good on the released stuff :) Ha watching my videos would keep you here for some time. Check my channel and the lists and there is enough to keep you there for a while... I can hear it now as you speak to your wife... 'I'm going to watch Tony's videos... I might be some time' as that very famous statement went with one of Scott's team. Thanks for those kind words and of course for watching.

@Genesis-yr2ix
@Genesis-yr2ix 6 жыл бұрын
Hello! Excited to hear from you. You've been in hiding for a while which made me worry about you. I am enjoying the DD-500 very much. I have a version 2.00 & I know there's an update, but I'm chicken to try the upgrade. I haven't experimented with it all that much. I found this forum where there were about 50+ custom patches listed, but I haven't tried but a couple of them. For my purposes of entertainment, I'm pretty much locked in on tape/300ms/EchoP. I also add a Boss RV-6 reverb on "hall" setting. I can't think of a bad thing to say about the DD-500. All very good. Hours and hours of experimenting are at my fingertips if I so desire. To sum it up, FANTASTIC.

Stephen, like most things over time your channel will get better and better. I started mine some years ago and things do improve... you get better at making and editing the stuff for example. But don't be put off if your channel is slow, or guys are rude or obnoxious... some are like that but the truth is that often they are in a very small minority. Hey Tony, i wanted to ask a question thats been bothering me for quite some time, i just purchased a Boss katana mini, it has a 4 inch speaker and sounds really good, and im playing it at really low volumes, but the question is. Is it possible to damage the 4 inch speaker if i put it on the brown channel (distortion) while playing at a low volume setting in the amplifier? like volume setting 2/10 I would apreciate it if you could have time to answer this question in detail and perhaps shed a bit of light, cuz the fenition if distortion is when a speaker is clipping and the sine waves become square right? if thats the case why arent all the speakers that guitar players use suddendly blowing up in their faces? Im a total noob when it comes to this :(

Nice to see you looking good Tony. I have three Gibson Les Paul's and they are the best. I have a Gibson 335 and a 355, both perfect. Japanese guitars are very close and biting on the heels of Gibson and Fender. My Japanese Strats are fantastic. I bought a Burny Les Paul Custom and that guitar is a beast. Then I have the other guitars that I love and play a lot for no real reason. I just finished a Fender Jazzmaster for block of wood to playing it live last Saturday night. They are miserable things I tell you. The bridge is wrong and the fix is long and dead ends. Thank you for sharing and your videos are always a treat.

Hi Kevin.. It's good to know about your guitars too - if someone owns a particular guitar and they say it's cool then usually it is - and from what you say you are like me a lot, sure I have the dearer stuff but the video hopefully shows that many of my guitars are not all highly priced and are just as good. Obviously the HB also tells a story. I have not tried a Fender Jazz master - ever! So I'll take your word on it... best comments always from owners :). Thanks for watching and I hope this video was interesting.

Hi Tony. Great video. particulalry like your guitar videos. Any thoughts on P-90s in Les Pauls? I've been offered a 2018 Gold Top Classic at a very good price - and/or a new 2016 Elite (old stock????) for a very good price too. Ever heard of Xotic guitars? - boutique stuff from the states with a growing reputation. That's another possiblity as well as a couple of builds. Builds are on hold at the moment - we're having the house done up. Dust and rubble all over the place, water and electricity off that kind of stuff. So long as they don't cut Internet. All the best.
@tonymckenzieofficial
@tonymckenzieofficial 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Robin, glad you like this stuff - it takes forever to create. Indeed, I had back in the early 80's a Les Paul with P90's in it - a black one I remember it well (probably it was an end of 70's made guitar). I for one did not like the P90's and I hate to say this, but I loaned it to the rhythm guitarist to play - he liked it, but for me it did not have 'that' tone that I really wanted to achieve. Eventually I sold it and that had really coloured my opinion (maybe) about P90's - once bitten twice shy so to speak. The Elite I think is a very good guitar and the neck is quite incredibly good. The pickups I like too and for me are very nice - bit more drive but still a Fender tone - recommended guitar. I have heard of Xotic guitars - a little expensive here in the UK and not sure of USA prices. They look good but I have not used one. However Xotic pedals are nice - try the SL drive. I always tend to be a little wary about third party makers that are basically making guitars to a standard that is already well covered. The Xotic are basically Stratocasters and while indeed they might be 'something special' like you, I have no way of telling particularly but I would not buy one because Fender do make some good guitars at lower cost... and the second user value might not be there with third party brands of Strats. Like the PRS Strat (I'll call it that). I would never buy one. PRS is great at what they do, and infiltration to the Fender space seems somehow grabbing for business. Just an opinion. With decent parts guitar builds are every bit as good as the stuff you can buy (they typically are not worth the same used values as brands) and you know exactly what went in to the guitar - every single last detail. As you know I like Ibanez too, but there are others out there that are great. I bought a Tokai a few years ago (a Japanese one) for just £400 ($600) and that guitar is the epitome of a real Gibson Les Paul. I changed out the wiring and the pickups and it plays exactly like the real deal. The Jap ones new can be over £1200 ($1600) so it was a bargain. But the best thing about that guitar was that the bridge and stop tail are EXACTLY the same sizes as the Gibson ones and can be flipped out easy.. as can the tuners etc. I did the whole thing for about £700 ($900) and the result was great. If you're looking for one of the Xotics or the other stuff look second user - its out there and those are usually looked after... but the Elite is a really cool guitar which I reviewed here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/apCzmZWojtCsnsk and that might help. Thanks for watching.

Thanks very much for the reply Tony. I saw your review of the Elite - excellent. I love the Strat sound - just a wee bit of drive and the cluck in the 2 and 4 positions - but do find Les Paul type guitars more comfortable to play. An ergnomic thing I think. Hopefully try the Elite out soon.

My favourite is Ibanez (but Japanese) and for rock they are hard to beat... I have played lots of guitars but my 'go to' is a $500 90's Ibanez... weird! My JPLP is the best playing and feeling LP I have ever had and they are great sounding but different than the Ibanez... more refined I think :)

JH never say never my friend. Trust me, if you had shown this to me in my early 20's I would never have even dreamed that I could ever have almost any of those guitars at that time, and a collection like that literally never. But things change as we all move through our lives. That's a fact and I know that anyone can do the things I have done and end up in a strong position so they could have a collection like that. And no one is ever too old to do it either. It's a long video :) but was fun making it and I enjoyed that too. I never had all those guitars out like that ever so it was my first 'viewing' too :).. Ha my wife said (as predicted) that I have 'too many'. Thing is JH... sincerely... thanks for watching and I hope you really do end up with a collection even better.

Hi Tony, I really enjoy watching your videos. I also have an addiction to putting together Warmoth Strats. I have put 4 together. My question is do you find that the tone is brighter with a maple top as opposed to a solid alder or ash strat? I'm thinking of building another one with a nice flame maple top. One other question, do you find the chambered body any better in tone or just lighter? Your friend from Dallas, TX.
@tonymckenzieofficial
@tonymckenzieofficial 6 жыл бұрын
Ha Steven, me too! - Warmoth are cool makers of the parts. But its great fun to do. Indeed I ALWAYS have a chambered body and the guitar is more resonant without increasing any unwanted feedback. It can feedback for sure in a good way though just like any other Strat - but lighter and as I get older that matters. I always get swamp ash and maple tops and chambered... I don't see much difference in tone unless you have bat ears :) You will notice that on the guitars I built that the pickups are VERY carefully selected before I build the guitar so that I can make exactly the style of Strat tones I want. Sometimes I will also wire differently. You can also drop the neck to .720 which is about 1/8 inch lower with Warmoth if you have the body made - they wont do that if not. The advantage is that it drops the neck lower compensating for no scratch plate/pick guard. But be careful about that mod as it can take some setting up afterwards.... I've been there and done that. My guitar builds are all here: kzbin.info/aero/PLD38427759E821683 and there are a lot of variations between them all.. if you like Warmoth and building/assembling its worth checking for sure. I have a real 2008 Fender Strat and the alder/ash thing seems to be similarly sounding to me. I just love a great looking Strat though and careful selection of parts with the exact aim to achieve an exact style ort tone seems to work very well for me. Indeed I was in Dallas just two weeks ago :) always great to visit... Thanks for watching...

PRS website says there's 300 2017 reissue Marsden's in Europe. Original batch was made from 2012 - 2016. Gigged with my 2012 for years with the original pick ups and it never let me down. Don't know about the new batch but mine plays nicer than my buddies S2. My replacement axe is a 2010 Ibanez Prestige 1450 that is perfect in every way, though the skinny neck is a huge jump from the 10 lbs. Marsden and it's baseball bat neck. Nice collection, Cheers.

OK, thanks...I watch Ebay daily and have sold a couple of dozen over the last few years. Sometimes I only make $40-$50 but often do better. I've found a few deals on Guitar Center used because they had listed the guitar incorrectly and were unaware of the value. Snagged a 2012 Fender Select maple top w/case for $800 because it was listed as a Standard. Don't know how they missed the "Select" medallion on back of head stock. Sold that one on Ebay for $1,243...got a red Eric Clapton Strat without case for $725 that was also listed as a Standard and turned it for $970, 7 days later. Hell, even found a Japanese EVH Wolfgang w/case on Sam Ash used for $400 and turned it for $610. On Ebay, a recent divorced fella sold me his 2017 Gibson SG "unplayed" for a "buy it now" at $650.. which I listed as soon as I got it and turned it for $901....Shipping usually averages $45-$55 so I always add a flat charge of $50 with UPS. Kind of a fun hobby for a bored married guy! Also glad to hear an honest review of the Harley, tired of people like Henning bragging them up while having the gall to slam on Gibson. Cheers to you and yours.

Ha it's funny with guitars... I can honestly say that I rarely make ANY profit from them... but I have a few that have increased over time as in the video... The Gibson Jimmy Page, The Ibanez 7VWH Japanese, The Gibson Spotlight and maybe the odd other one... but I have hung on to them so likely while I'm around they won't be sold. I also have made a few Warmoth guitars and rarely would ever sell one because (if you get it) I'm in there somewhere :) At least you're making something on them and that can't be bad! Here most of the gear is horribly expensive... and we suffer 20% tax.. which really makes things so high cost - USA guys complain at (for example) Gibson, Fender and PRS prices but here they are incredibly high compared to the street price there. Oh well. Thanks for the info BB...

Thomann is quality and in my three late experiences, sweet and well worth the experience.
@tonymckenzieofficial
@tonymckenzieofficial 6 жыл бұрын
How would I describe Thomann today. Historically I bought loads of equipment from them. The Euro was lower against the £ and prices were reasonable. I had an occasion with headphones that had clearly been used and were actually dirty so I ended up having to insist that they were replaced. They did that. Where products were made by well known manufacturers they supplied what everyone else did and I had no issues with that. However, for the Harley Benton guitar (a Thomann brand) that was supposedly' checked by the manufacturer' and 'quality checked and setup by Thomann' I found that to be an out and out lie. The guitar was NOT checked by anyone and left their company in an appalling state as my video shows. It was not fit for the fire. While I did have reasonable service from them where branded products were concerned there is absolutely no way I would recommend either the Harley Benton as a guitar brand, or either Thomann who supplied documentation with the guitar that lied through it's teeth. So I guess that I would NOT describe Thomann for HB as 'quality, sweet or indeed worth the experience. Quite the contrary. I suspect that if you had the same experience as me then you might have also a different view. In fact the supply of that junk and their 'service' of it has cost Thomann tens of thousands of pounds worth of business and I'll never go back. And that's why I keep the half guitar in my collection to ensure that I never forget just how bad they were. Thanks for watching.

@tonymckenzieofficial
@tonymckenzieofficial 6 жыл бұрын
Well I don't have time in trying to convince people that what is in that video is absolutely genuine. I made it because if some young guy had saved up forever, and just tried to play (remember you could not see anything as the guitar was played) he would fail. And likely he would sell it and never go back to guitar thinking that he could only ever play out of tune. For me that was a really bad thing to see. I don't like companies that lie... they said it had been checked twice before shipping (in writing) but that was simply untrue. So the HB boys can love them... but not for me and I believed that I had a duty to tell exactly what my experience with that brand was. If you get a 'good one' then the bones might be there - that was my opinion before I bought one. After that? Well, I liken it to playing Russian roulette but with 5 bullets in the chamber. You might get a good one :) or not! ;-) In any case I still have the half :) The Spotlight was one of those Gibsons that they make few of... Gibson did (does) do that from time to time and the spotlight is one of them. You might like this too: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bWq7o6Wdea9saqM where they made just 180 pieces. @Iggytommy
@Iggytommy 6 жыл бұрын
Ah, so it's more the traditional pickups that a Strat has that you dislike rather than a Strat per se. I find the contoured body shape of Fender's offset models and Strat the most comfortable/best for playing ergonomics. Strats are excellent platforms for pickup mods. Single coils pickups have their place.
@tonymckenzieofficial
@tonymckenzieofficial 6 жыл бұрын
I agree that some single coils I like, but I'm no Hendrix (although I love some of that music - machine gun is a lesson in itself right from a regular strat) and I don't really like drive pedals that much so I tend to focus on (for strats) something like Joe Barden (Danny Gatton) pickups or other pickups like what Andy Timmons uses which are great sounding to my ears. I like the V4 Fender Noiseless and the V3 versions too. I also used to use Lace 'Holy Grails' as pickups. But I have to say the best sounding regular Strat pickups I have ever found are here in this clip of one of the guitars I made with pickups from a guy who passed away some time ago and they sound incredible really: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXfZhZWkhNx2fsk which was a Strat I made. The Pickups were David White Pickups and I talk about those here: tonymckenzie.com/fender_strat_david_white_pickups_review.htm which if you did not know of these can bring you completely up to date. Find a set? Buy them immediately! Notice that the playing is not some laid back flimsy stuff... hence why often some Strat pickups don't do it for me... I could tap that guitar all day as demonstrated and there are not really that many Strats with standard pickups that can do that for me. So now you know :) Overall a good question.

From what I saw - I agree. The bridge looked way too suspicious and these holes... oh my god... Maybe that's the thing with the Far East made guitars (whatever the brand) - you gotta be lucky with finding one that's not horrible. I couldn't open the HB in the store obviously, but with a "floating" bridge like that it would've affected sustain, the guitar though sounded nice acoustically.

Wow the spotlight I have not seen another... but if it's $9500 OMG that is incredible. Actually I am not surprised it really is a nice guitar and I never understand why they only make 200? It was the same with the Gibson 'All Wood' if you saw my review on that - around 180 only here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bWq7o6Wdea9saqM indeed a great guitar. You are right it was a real issue getting them out etc. but I did get the photo of most in the collection and a second picture with the other four. Worth while to do. tonymckenziecom Tony, I love that Spotlight. Yea it was exactly yours. Same everything. It was a opening bid. You did a great job with the little side notes. I didn’t know you played the pagey LP as much as you did. And I didn’t know you love the JBE pickups like me. (Same color). Here’s a Danny Gatton funny. He was describing the new pickups they were working on and he said “the blades on the pickups are an additional fret”. AND HE WAS RIGHT. I stupidly brought that Tele to the Joe Perry camp I went on and now I can’t play it because he signed it and it’s got the COA now. But I have my Goldy. Nothing can touch that guitar. You have an awesome collection man.
@tonymckenzieofficial
@tonymckenzieofficial 6 жыл бұрын
I checked and saw the one you mention... yes very similar Spotlight guitar. Yes originally I played the JPLP from 95 to about 98 or thereabouts, and from then on as I need it, but it is less played these days. Around the end of 97 the band I was in split up and I had played a particular style until that time which I would describe as 'middle ground' rock meaning not too heavy but with an edge. I never tried any other techniques other than with a regular pick or fingerstyle and the fingerstyle I was rubbish at. But what happened was that I tried to pick up tapping. I looked at what others did but never really got that. Then I updated the amp to a Mesa Triaxis and 2:90 amp in stereo. I figured out a way to tap guitar by also using a wah pedal that was and is different than what orthodox tapping entails... then I practised and practised for some years believe it or not. By 2004 I have to say that I was pretty good at that new method of playing. I then wrote the 'Eniac' album and had Alan Bruce along (a great guy I have known for some years) for bass, any vocals (few) and lyrics. I recorded that back in 2006 and that technique is all over the album. I'm pretty sure you have heard that one but here's a soundcloud link for others to listen: soundcloud.com/tonymckenziecom You will hear that tapping all over the music... and I never went back to the 'old me' :) style. Yes very interesting on the new frets bit... I never thought of that on those, but saw Roy Buchannan using pickups as frets... staring me in the face but did not see it how Danny did. Ha that's what happens when you get someone to sign the guitar :) I had a scratch plate off a Strat and got Malmsteen to sign it... put it on a guitar and then did not play it :) I know exactly how you feel about that one. My collection includes guitars that are not all expensive (some might find that strange) but each one has it's story and that's why they remain in there. I occasionally thin them out but rarely like to sell any. Of course the cost of review gear sometimes makes me sell the odd one - there is no easy way to finance all the review gear. Hey I have an incredible tube amp coming for review - a tube amp hand made that is probably one of the best tube amps in the world if not THE best right now. I won't tell you what it is for now, but I'll be doing an extended inside and out review as well as getting a really great player to come and record with it on video to show what its like in use (He's better than me!). It's hand made and was recommended to me by an international pro guitarist that has sadly now passed on, but I trust his word implicitly and know from the current users of the brand that it does not get any better. It's very expensive and I really did not want to buy it at the price to be honest, but I guess I'll sell off a couple of other amps to get the money back. Watch for this review - not too sure how long, but trust me, it will be as good as it gets!

Not a Gibson hater, but I have seen a lot of issues with newer Les Paul’s. Mostly twisted necks. I think a lot of people don’t think to look for such things and sometimes they get burned. Also, the circuit boards/quick connect things they put in guitars nowadays are just plain bad. I’ve had to replace a ton of them. Most customer’s would rather have traditional CTS pots, etc. Much better taper to them. And don’t even get me started on etune/robot tuners yuk! With that said, I’ve played quite a few that were outstanding. I just think their QA has dropped a lot in the past few years. That along with bad ideas is why they are being spotlighted with bankruptcy stories. I kind of hope they sell the company to someone less out of touch with what customers want.

In those circumstances I would think the seller has a lot to do with it... the dealer should be checking the gear and returning it if there is any issue. It does not 'let Gibson off' so to speak if they do get out of the factory, but those dealers clearly are not checking the gear. Here in the UK I have never had a single bad Gibson. Maybe the dealers check them better? The only thing I did not really like on the PCB's was the fiddly connectors if you need to fit a different (even Gibson) pickup that comes with no connector on it. Who knows what Gibson will do in the future. There are many that say their guitars 'are too expensive' but if you actually look at their range they have guitars for every pocket so somehow that view seems wrong. I agree on the bad ideas thing - I don't want (or need) electronic tuners which honestly I would never buy a Les Paul with them on. Thanks for watching Travis.

Recently watched the Harley Benton sc450 video and was not surprised to see the comments were blocked, clearly in my opinion you wanted to avoid criticism for your obviously biased and closed minded ‘review’ on what is an extremely reasonable guitar for the price range, and in my opinion better than some squier and epiphone alternatives. You clearly present yourself as man who can afford the luxury of a Gibson so why buy a reasonably priced alternative, destroy it in a review and then spend money attempting (and failing) to improve it?

Clearly you do. If you come on here looking for some sort of support for a product like that you are not going to find it. Cr*p is cr*p no matter how you want to suggest otherwise and the video I made clearly shows exactly how that guitar was sold. A guitar with tail piece posts that move 1/4 inch is not a reasonably priced guitar at ANY price. And by the way, what I can or cannot afford is none of your business. You seem clearly deluded somewhere because the Epiphones I have reviewed leave the Harley Benton rubbish in the gutter where it belongs. Thanks.

Ha I never went anywhere! I was making videos (go check! Indeed 238 currently on my channel). Actually currently I just received a custom made amp (it will remain nameless for now) that is used by the guitar greats but they don't tell you they use it (Its their secret weapon - yes really). This took a few months of negotiating and paying for then it had to be made and later shipped. That amp has now arrived... but I'm not in the UK to complete it right now and won't be for a while yet. But that will be a review to really sink in to and watch - its a rock amp... I have also an Line6 HX Effects unit that was a pain in the donkey because its released by Line6 without the editor! (How bad is that... its a PI**take) and I won't review it until they do release the software which is quoted as 'spring'... boing! Line6 want stuffing for that little ditty. Who wants to see half a job? I almost threw it out of the window at one stage... The GT-1000 remains back ordered and is yet another pain as Roland Boss can't bother to deliver these units to the UK to anyone except Andertons it seems (fancy that) who I don't buy off as I prefer to support local dealers when I can... but that will be a very in depth review and not at all like you typically see on KZbin from makers or twiddlers and worth the wait. Strangely the GT-1000 is all over the USA and I could buy one right now... those UK offices need to get their act together, but that's nothing new and I have complained many times. I like Roland Boss gear in general with few exceptions but the delivery dates are something I'll be taking in to account for future reviews of their equipment. This video of the guitar collection if you watch it all lasts nearly two hours! and it took me a long time to make... getting the guitars in one place is not easy and there are some really great guitars to see. So there you have it... there will be nothing for about three weeks or more on my channel as I'm not there to make the videos... but thanks for watching...

Thats quite the collection, too many repeats though for my taste. I do not like SC shaped guitars...lol

Ha... but we're all different in our choices. The Telecasters and some of the Strats were made by me though and that puts a different light on things a little... they all have a connection somehow - more maybe sentimental feel because I put them together myself and changed the specs for each one. The other guitars are originals of course - and even those are hard to 'get rid' of if I was summoned by the wife :) Thanks for watching.

'faux' isn't pronounced with the 'x' sounding; the x is quiet. say it as 'foe'.

Anything over $5000 new should be top notch. Guitars are in my experience not great investments especially in the $30000 mark PRS. They don't and will never hold value at that price. Blues Doctors buying stratospheric amounts.... Good for them but they're not players. Don't buy a guitar as a investments. Enjoy them.

Great points and did you see my video on that? Here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJqyXpSEqbZ2o7M and I'm not far away from your comments either. But do be careful because some of those guys buying them CAN play :) Thanks and stay safe.

Like I said it the video... all guitars in my collection are there because they mean something to me and that's what matters? It's my collection! Anyone ... is there only three in here? :) Post now!
